This is a great detailed book with recipes and plant descriptions. Juliette was very good at matter of fact down to earth no fuss solutions for many situations. I highly recommend for any mother to be or any person interested in a more natural approach to life.

Good book until page 18 where it says “homosexuality is against the dignity of the human race.” And this is the updated version. Wtf!

In the 1960s/1970s when I was a child my mother read Juliette de Bairacli Levy's books. As is often the case our reading either reflects our interests or forms them. My mother was keen on natural childbirth and was one of the first members of the Natural Childbirth Trust in the late 1950s in the UK. This book although appearing now to be rather dated and the science of it being of its time is interesting because it almost pressages more modern trends to naturalism, the organic and the like. I bought it in 2004 for my mother as she lay bored and dying and she was pleased I had tracked it down.The author lived with gypsies and learnt much from them. Read with a cautious eye on technological and scientific developments since then it will still be of use today with recipes to cure partlicular ailments and contains some interesting anecdotal descriptions from the author about her life in Europe and Israel, close to nature with her children.

This book is a treasury of knowledge on natural chid rearing. What an incredible woman she was and what a delight to have this book to reference.

Nature's Children is a excellent book to read. I read the original book, but no longer had that copy. When I saw the reprint I wanted to read it again. It is about raising healthy children naturally. It is also the story about how the author raised her children and using some natural remedies that she learned from the gypsies. I would recommend this books for anyone interested in natural remedies.Claire
