Great coloring book for adults
I really enjoy cactus so this was a great way for me to color with my kids. I like that there are pictures of most of the cactus... if there isn't it's easy to find online with the specific name.

I liked this book
Bought this for my wife so I will let her review it.I am an avid gardener and a cactus, agave and aloe nut. I liked this book. It presented some unusual species and went beyond the prickly pear, barrel and Saguaro which was nice. I liked the fact there were Latin names, and a brief paragraph about the plant's color and flowers, texture, habitat and growing conditions. Not only fun cactus activity book to color but also one that teaches in an assuming way. Really appreciated the colored photos on the front, back and inside covers so that you have a visual guide as to what the plant should look like. Not all the plants were represented but the majority of them were so going to the computer to search for visuals was not necessary 85% of the time. Plants were detailed, and very well illustrated within the book. These pictures are complex and require some thought and attention to detail as opposed to being for someone who just wants to sit and color for relaxation. Better suited book for the artist or plant nut.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because a few of the plants represented in the book are ones that are covered in fine white hairs or a layer of white cottony fuzz. Kind of hard to color that. There were only 2 or 3 like this so it wasn't a big deal. I just used a super pale beige. *LOL* At least you could 'see' it.Overall very good book and a nice way to see some different variety of cacti beyond the usual. Great learning and teaching tool also. Makes a great gift for a gardener or cactus enthusiast than it would be for someone who just wants a creative or meditative exercise.

Simple, beautiful, and interesting
The media could not be loaded. I love the descriptions of each plant. That makes it interesting for me. Looks like the pictures are not so detailed that it will be laborious. I love to color, but I give up if it's too intricate. I did look closely for any flaws and did not see any. Also, there is a color example of almost every plant on both the inside and outsides of the front and back covers.

Here is a way to have a cactus garden without getting stuck.
My wife has been involved with cactus gardening for a number of years, and, following a recent stroke, she wanted a way to enjoy her cactus gardening, even when she could not physically be in the garden. She colors these cacti with the same love she had when planting them, only now without the pain of the needles. I appreciate this book, in that it continues to trigger memories and provide therapy in coloring these plants and extension of the visual limitations left by the stroke. As my wife improves, I am sure that she will want to return to her garden cacti - needles and all.

I'm 58 but I still really like to color!
I'm a big fan of cacti - they are unique and amazing! This coloring book gives many variety of cacti in very good detail to color with colored pencils or crayon. The paper seems to be sturdy enough to hold up to using colored pencils . The price is very reasonable. There is a whole line of many unique and different subjects to color in this Dover series of coloring books, such as Angels, Wizards, Animals, Victorian Houses.....well, you get the idea! For all of us grown 'kids' who still like to color!

Love this book
Love this book! Living in the desert, this is special to me. It's hard to find cactus themed items. I plan to take it out when we go hiking. Paper is of good quality, ink is defined nicely.
