There is a good reason for only 4 stars :0/
I LOVE this album, it came on time, well packaged and its presentation is gorgeous. I own it on CD (purchased the day of release) but personally the style of it screams to be heard on vinyl so purchased again. The reason for only 4 stars? The running order. The CD only has 12 tracks. You stream it from Amazon, it has 3 extra tracks making it 15. This vinyl album is listed as the "delux" edition but has a different running order again giving it only 14 tracks. Unless you stream it, you dont get the full album which kinda makes you feel short changed. I complained about this this when I purchased the CD and disappointed the Vinyl is different again. I own two versions of this and neither seem to be the full album :0(

New album is a winner
Many influences here, but Jack spins them into his own style and the result is very pleasing. Several earworm pieces. A tearjerker. A sweet duet. A filler or two. Only quibble I have is if one is going to borrow something so distinguishing from another artist, almost a sampled beat, why not bring her onboard for a duet? Maybe next time.

Less Tracks On Disc Than What Shows & Streams On Amazon Music
Pleased with the album sound. BUT there are less tracks on the Album than what streams on the album via the Amazon music app. I was told by an Amazon music rep if i want the other tracks, I have to purchase them separately. I love the album, but feel very short changed it didn't come as advertised. 3 Stars are for Amazon, not the artist.

DISAPPOINTED
Heard him sing on Graham Norton's show and loved his voice so bought an album. But I was disappointed because only one song was as I expected, romantic and sensual. Maybe I just bought the wrong album.

Favorite artist
Jack Savoretti is my most recent favorite musician. Written in Scars is one of my most-listened to albums...this latest is pretty close!

Fantastic!
This entire CD is fantastic! I absolutely love it! I had never heard of him until I saw him on Graham Norton and instantly fell in love with his voice. I play it so much I keep hearing it all day long. I definitely want another one.

Great songs
I totally like this cd. It’s worth every penny. One good song after another. You can understand the lyrics

Plain to see....
A big voice and big entertainer—a sort of pop Pavarotti, a crooner Caruso, a guy blessed with a massive instrument that sets plaster falling from the ceiling. Waited eagerly for the album and definitely not disappointed, Jack just gets better and better. The voice for the next Bond movie (Graham Norton recommendation.) 👍👍👍

Great album
There is something very familiar and reassuring about this album. The husky smokey vocals and excellent arrangements fit snugly. There is nothing groundbreaking about the album, it's just so good. Unpretentious, good songwriting, well recorded, vocals sit above the track rather than being smothered in production and beaten to death under a distorted bass. This is great music for grown ups. There are so many influences that permeate each track that are difficult to pin down but it all works so well. I was hooked after just one listen and that rarely happens these days. Much prefer this to the over rated Ed Shenanigans

SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!!!
This album is out standing from start to finish , Jacks voice just gets better and better , there are so many standout tracks on this album !!The only criticism for me personally is the appalling version of Music to sad with Kylie Minogue , having heard the version by Jack on his own would have been a better fit with the albumVinyl quality is excellent with the album on 2 discs with gatefold sleeveIn my opinion one of the most underrated Artists of todayBuy this Album it is a true gem I've had it on repeat since purchasing OUTSTANDING

This album is just great!
Jack Savoretti just gets better and better, each album sounds slightly more polished than the last. There's not a bad track on here, they're all brilliant! And I love the James Bond style theme of the first track.

Beautiful!!!!!
Love Jack's music. This may be his best album yet; and that's saying a lot. He is a great singer song writer who must be destined for big things. I think this year he will get the massive recognition that he truly deserves.Highly recommend.

Jack Savoretti - Emotive and Touching Music
Excellent song writing with the impact of a sledge hammer or a scalpel into your motions, depending on what Jack wants you to feel. Sublime musician. Buy this CD and make your own mind up.

O.M.G.!!!!!
This guy has an amazing voice. I put on 'Singing to Strangers' and it hasn't been off my CD player since. This knocked my socks off from first playing. Being late to this guy and his voice, I have already started to collect his back catalogue. This is raunchy, smokey lounge, two in the morning with a cocktail kind of singing. Amazing album. After 'Candlelight' I'll eat my hat if this guy doesn't get to sing the next Bond theme tune. Best album of 2019 for me.

WTF !!
A very very strange album! ......The opening track sounds like a sub-standard Bond theme ?? ....the rest reminds me of middle of the road 60's & 70's lounge lizards. It's also over the top on orchestration - you would hardly know his band were present...... are you catering for the 'mum market' now? C'mon Jack, all your previous albums were pretty decent, you seem to have lost your way. I can't even come up with something positive, except that if you like lounge lizard music, maybe you'll like this.

My wife and mother-in-law are now obsessed with this album
My wife bought this for her mother's birthday. She had only heard one song off the album and had decided that her mother would love the song and possibly the other dogs on the album. Both my mother-in-law and my wife now play his music almost 24-7. Not the greatest for me but it just proved that it was a well worth gift that keeps on giving. But maybe buy some ear plugs if you're a guy whose maybe not into Italian bond music....

'Singing to Strangers' is the best album to come out this year.
From the moment I heard 'Candlelight' with it's violin intro that sounded like something from the movie 'The Italian Job' and Jack's husky voice singing, I was hooked.Unlike many albums where there may be one or two songs that you like, I can honestly say that there is not a single song on this album that I do not like. For me Jack Savoretti's 'Singing to Strangers' is the best album to come out this year.

My favourite so far ..
Oh my goodness, I thought nothing could top Written in the Scars...this absolutely does .Beginning with Candlelight ( Bond Theme in the making) track after track amazing , I have been playing this on repeat since I purchased it .Amazing talent and each track outstanding, personal favourites , Greatest Mistake , Don’t have to Die Alone but they are all fabulous! This has to be Jack’s best album to date .It seems he’s beginning to get the air play and recognition he so deserves. Can’t wait to see him play live later this year .Amazing ! Buy it now folks !

Just brilliant!
Another great album by Jack. His voice is amazing. Everytime he brings an album out there is always a song you can relate to. Got this on both CD and vinyl! Just brilliant!

Great car CD
I like this a lot as Jack has a crusty voice which bodes well for singing mostly real raw reflections which most of us can relate to. There are a couple which stopped me in my tracks when he talks of living with pain and not telling his loved he does which is so humble. I really love this .

Savoretti's best work yet !!
This is a well presented gatefold album on heavy 180gsm vinyl which gives near CD quality playback, only warmer. The tracks take a few listens but What else Can I Do is a standout as far as I'm concerned, followed closely by Love is on the line, Gaslight, Better off without me, and Touchy situation.Great vinyl package and great value

Singing to Strangers
Am still not sure if Jacks, style of singing is quite the right thing for me, but this LP has been a number one hit, and is certainly very pleasant listening., but not one I would put on the top of my list.
