OOK534692 50174 Framers Hanging Wire Supports Up to 50 Pounds, One Size, No Color

This wire is vinyl coated and very sturdy.I was planning on using it for the nose wire in face masks as I had done with other vinyl coated picture hanging wire in several face masks I had already sewn for extended family. I had no idea what weight limit wire I was using in those face masks. And, when buying at 50 lb limit, I had no idea how thick and sturdy that coated wire would be because I could not “see it.” It was much too sturdy for use in masks. It was difficult to bend. It would have been very uncomfortable to wear.I have saved what I did not cut off and insert into masks only to remove and toss those pieces. I will use the remainder for its intended purpose of hanging heavy framed pictures. It will work well for that job.

This wire is easy to work with it's pliable, and an easy knott will hold a large framed painting. I expected there two be enough to hang at least two of the 39 X 31" framed painting that I recently bought on Amazon, but I did not measure the length and the one package was about two inches short of my needs. It will hang two of the 39 X 31" frames if you cut it at the center, but that's going to be it.GOver all this is great reat wire for hanging just about anything you'll want to put on your walls. It's pliabel and the coating grips like a vise so your art willbe safe, it would have been a little better if they sold it in packages saying how long the wire is by saying say 10' of,15' or 20 feet and so on, but this wire does make hanging frames easier and having it shipped to your home in a matter of days makes it a very good purchase in my opinion.

This professional brand wall frame wire is an outstanding product I recommend to anyone looking to hang up to 50 pounds. The 9 foot length is ample for most small, medium and large pictures. It is easy to cut to desired length. As with any wall hanging, it is important to use correct frame fasteners attached to the frame and appropriate wall anchors to secure the weight of your pictures. This wire is easily attached through the frame fasteners and allowing an additional 2 to 3 inches of excess wire on both sides. Looping the excess wire several times through the fasteners and using pliers to firmly twist and press the tightly looped wire ends guarantees a professional job.

This wire is so easy to use! For the price, you really can't beat it. I was able to hang two large framed pieces of art, but had no leftover wire after that. Both were extremely heavy, and are holding up just fine. I cut the wire with normal scissors with little to no difficulty. I should warn you that after cutting the wire, the spot where you cut will have a sharp metal wire (which is on the inside of the plastic coating) protruding, and you can poke yourself and draw blood. It will be very obvious when you cut the wire though, so you won't make that mistake.

This wire was really quite a bit more thick than I had expected, so I would choose this only for the heaviest artwork you have. I was using it to hang a medium weight but large painting, and the bulk of the wire made it quite difficult to twist tightly and I have some concerns that it might come loose over time.However if you have a very heavy frame, this is definitely a good heavy duty option - you will never have to worry about it snapping!

Just used this to hang a few larger picture frames -- as always, very happy with the OOK products. This wire was easy to use, although the directions on the package didn't help much (but YouTube did!). Easy wire to work with and cut, and enough to do my projects and still have some left over. I felt confident the wire would hold in place, and again it was very easy to work with...would use again.

Just as described! Used it to rewire some frames and it holds up very well. Much better than the supposed "twisted" OOK picture wire. For heavier items, I would prefer a thick braided wire, as this is quite thin. But it definitely serves it's purpose! And is much friendlier on the finger tips when twisting. Be sure to look up ow to correctly wire frames before using this with any D-rings. If you didn't wire properly, and the frame falls and breaks - it won't be the fault of the wire.

I bought this for the fact that it was coated and would not scratch the wall covering. It is a very good quality and durable as I used it to hang a very large mirror. I did not like that it was more difficult to work with because of the covering on the wire. I was still able to attach it firmly to the back of the mirror, but had to work with it a bit longer. I felt there was really not much benefit to the coating, but OOK still makes a very good product.

Not much else to say but it arrived as described and the package looked brand new. Does the job it's supposed to do.
