Pen itself is fun to play with, kind of crappy as a pen though
To preface, this is a great toy for fidgeting. It's infinitely fun to pull the magnets apart and watch it snap back together. In that way, it's fine as a toy.As a pen though, it sucks pretty badly. First, the two ink refills I got were just trashy. The first one seemed to be dried out and writes extremely erratically, the ink randomly drying up during any task. The second one leaks and was leaving small drops of ink on my fingers, the pen itself and my documents. I had to replace the ink with one from another pen I had lying around in order to get the pen to even write properly.Second, the design of the pen is a plastic ink refill, so when you place it in your hand to write, the entire pen will bend about 20-30ish degrees just from trying to write. This in of itself is not catastrophic, but it does make using the pen a bizarre experience. If a metal casing for the ink was used instead and if it fit the inside of the magnets better, that would solve this problem, but it appears that the pen magnets and the ink refill were not designed together as it doesn't fit the casing very well.Last, the "cap" that is used for the pen top does not stay on the magnets below. This causes a lot of times when I am pulling off the magnet cap to pull the entire cap off, including the one keeping the ink refill inside the magnet shell, which allows the ink refill to fly out of the pen. In order to get around this, you need to use your index fingernail to hold the cap down when you pull the top off to use the pen.To summarize: I am disappointed in the quality of the pen, but as a toy it's fun. However, you're better off looking elsewhere if you want to get an actual, usable pen. I had to keep resorting to using a different pen and this is now just an office toy instead of a usable item.
