This is a fantastic textbook. It follows the new curriculum (first examinations May 2016) perfectly. Teachers and students should find this book invaluable. The ability for students to retain a 4-year electronic subscription is a great benefit, since this text covers most or all of what would normally be offered in a first year college biology course.The first edition of this series was pretty good. The second edition is really, really good.

Textbook skips over complicated subjects, especially membrane transport. I recommend using this book in conjunction with an AP textbook such as Campbell
