Excellent holster
I carried a S&W M&P 9c for a year and 1/2 in this same holster (made for the 9c of course) and loved it. It's a very simple design, very comfortable and it has great retention. I carry right side abdomen and what I really love is the super easy on and off with the very heavy duty clip. It clips onto your belt and with the j-hook shape at the bottom.. it isn't going anywhere. But it's super easy to remove without having to remove your belt. I just received this and immediately put my new M&P shield in it and, just like the old holster, it's very tight in the beginning, but you'll love how it breaks in and makes for quick draws and re-holsters. There are MANY options out there for your shield, and I'm not knocking any of them, but this one was a no-brainer for me . The price point is great and you get an EXCELLENT holster that isn't overly large nor too small. It covers the trigger as is should, retains the gun very well and is super comfortable. It's cut also allows for a full fisted grab on your grip for a draw. I highly recommend this holster to anyone with a shield, or any other firearm. Great American made product.

Great for concerned Americans living in a communist state
I live in New Jersey, so not even a letter from the Pope could get me a permit to carry. So I can't comment on whether or not this holster is great for everyday/ all day use. However, for my purposes this gets the job done. There have been break ins over the past few months in the neighborhoods surrounding mine, so I decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to discretely arm myself just in case my family was in danger. That being said it clips on nice and easy, and once it is over your belt it is in there. The leather feels great, just enough to be comfortable, although re holstering can take some manipulation, drawing from this holster is very quick and easy. The re holstering difficulty is very minimal as long as your pants aren't too tight. I'm more concerned with a quick draw than reholstering quickly. But I'm confident after practicing with this holster I could re holster when needed in a situation requiring to do so. I don't care about printing too much, I just didn't want to attract attention and let everyone walking by know I was armed. I would definitely recommend this light weight, affordable, and comfortable holster if you have needs similar to myself.

Very Comfy and Less Attention Drawn.
Feel better about this holster than the others I have as far as concealment goes. Seems more comfortable, and don't find myself doing the "bump" to see if all is well on the waist. My phone case sits nearby where I carry, so more attention goes to that vs. what matters but the inside the pant really slims down the silhouette. As stated in other reviews highly recommend wearing an undershirt since you will get some of your weapons rear slide on your waist since the top of your weapon sticks out an inch or so (unless you like the feel of that cold steel all day). As stated in other reviews, mine was a tight fit. I am not comfortable with the recommended freezer technique, so I used a thin sports sock to wrap the weapon and holster it overnight. Next day it holstered and drew perfect. Depending on where you wear it there could/might be a slight catch on the front sight. I normally wear mine 2-3 o'clock, but depending on what I wear sometimes 4 position the sight catches (very slightly). A bit of practice and its not even noticeable. The holster will work in the 10-11 position as well, again mood and preference thing.

First Impressions-Good
I just received the holster today; as a Prime member, I got it in 2 days. When I first placed my M&P Shield 9mm into the holster, it was an extremely tight fit and it appeared that the pistol would not fully seat into the holster. With the pistol in the holster, I pushed the holster, muzzle down, onto a hard surface and was able to fully seat the pistol. I guess it just needs to be broken in a bit. I carry in the 4 o'clock position and the holster provides excellent concealment. It rides very high, so I would not recommend this holster if you like your pistol stuck deep down in your waist. I however, prefer a nice high ride which I believe helps conceal the grip a little better for my physique. Going to the range next week and I'll post an update on the results.

Very Solid buy and High quality product!
This holster is pritty high quality for the price. It had a very easy break in for the leather, and the quality of the leather its self is very good. Its kinda a coarse suede and it really seems to minimize the movement of the holster without being rough on the skin. The clip seems strong and really fits my pants well, with or without a belt. After break in, it fit my M&P Shield 9mm like a glove, i cant imagine a better fit. My ONLY gripe with this holster is that the clip is a bit low, so the grip of the gun rides high kinda, and it can cause chafing, but that's really not the fault of the holster, its the fact that ima big fat guy and im not totally used to carrying with either this gun or holster. I though it was note worthy, but i wouldnt drop a star from the holster over it at all.

USA made quality! Comfortable, and convenient. Not tacticool.
Really well made for the price. Made in the USA, which I like. Retention is great. Re-holstering one handed can be difficult until the leather breaks in fully. I feel it's important to note that even after the leather has broken in, it will never be as easy to re-holster one handed as it is with a Kydex holster. But, if you're not really interested in a tacticool holster, and you just want something that's affordable, with great build quality, that's convenient, with great retention this is a great choice.

Concealed, accessable, comfortable. Good holster.
This is a nice little holster. I had been using a nylon holster with a S&W 40 Shield. This Galco makes the gun ride a little higher because it doesn't seat as deeply as in the nylon unit. This has two advantages. 1. There is less of a noticeable bulge in the waistband of the pants as more of the gun sits above the belt, under the shirt or jacket. 2. The gun is much easier to draw, again because it does not sink as far into the Galco. This was VERY noticeable when I tried the 2 holsters back to back. The leather is just as comfortable as the nylon and doesn't take up any more room. The price was good in comparison to a major outdoor retailer.

Great holster for the money.
This conceals the shield very good. I’ve spent 5 times as much on holsters and end up going with this one 9 times out of 10.
