Complete Poems (Penguin Classics)

An enjoyable book
Although I'd never heard of Dorothy Parker myself, a few lines quoted from one of her poems struck me favorably and so I searched out the Complete Poems book so that I could see all of them. Although I haven't yet read all of it, and it may take me quite some time, the few i have done are mostly very funny and very enjoyable although I don't think she set out to be, it's just a wry humour that pops out now and then!

Pretty banged up for "new"
It's pretty scuffed and dog-earred to have been sold as "new", even discounting any bending that might have happened in shipping. Nothing wrong with the content of the book as far as I can tell, but its really disappointing to open up a package expecting a crisp, new book and being presented with this.

If you like Dorothy Parker, treat yourself to this!
This author has been a part of my life for decades. Her poetry runs the gamut from salty to spiritual, but never boring. Her poetry becomes a part of life, because she can say so much with so few words.

Loved it!
The delightful Dorothy! Her poems are occasionally heartfelt, but generally cynical and funny. I bought this book as a pick-me-up, and it delivered. It was particularly great to have all the unpublished poems as well, many of which are hilarious. Fantastic book!

Love it!
I already have this book and decided to give a copy to a friend as a thank you gift. He is a big fan of Dorothy Parker and since he travels a lot can read and enjoy while traveling. Packaging was great and book was in top condition.

Don't want to contribute to the NAACP? Buy a USED copy!
There's not much to add to the adoring reviews of Mrs. Parker's Poetry, EXCEPT that you should purchase a USED copy, lest you unknowingly contribute a royalty to the copyright holder, the NAACP. Dottie was, after all, a "limousine liberal".

Tell it like it is, Dorothy!
I have been promising to treat myself to her poetry collection for a long while and now I have it. As luck would have it it arrived in time for my U3A poetry Group meeting for a session of D.P.versus Wendy Cope. How I wish I could have been a member of her set!

FIRST 8 PAGES OF THE BOOK MISSING!!!
Not only are the pages of this book appallingly thin, the product I received doesn't have the first 8 pages of it.
