Nicely made. Sturdy single cast metal. Great for scooping that flour or cereal and other pantry dry goods. Nice set for the money.

As others have mentioned, the finish does come off these if you run it through the dishwasher, etc. I'm not sure if it's food-safe after that so we threw out the one that lost its finish. They work great for our purposes, though. We still have several, one is used to scoop ice cubes, another is used for scooping dry goods (flour, sugar, etc). The rest have not been used yet and are back-ups, which is why I am not bothered by the loss of the one. If you're actually purchasing these for commercial purposes and need them to last as long as possible and be easily cleaned, you might want to look elsewhere - you'll have to baby these and hand-wash them to keep from ruining them.

I bought these for a friend a year ago when I was redoing his kitchen. We used them for scoops for the flour, sugar, brown sugar and coffee. They have been used for a year and he loves them. I just bought them for myself now as well.**The ONLY reason I gave them 4 stars has nothing to do with the scoops themselves but with instructions. Yes if you wash them they will not be shiny anymore!!! I wanted this look so I bought them and washed them on purpose. If you are going for the shabby-chic/rustic look then you will be happy with how these look**

Great scoops!! However, from what I've read in other reviews, don't put them in the dishwasher. Buy enough of different sizes to put one in each of your containers, and just leave it there... then you seldom have to wash them at all, but when you do, wash & dry by hand. I've had one in my flour container for years with no problem. (I DO wash it occasionally). If you figure the amount (1/2 cup, 1/4 cup, 1 cup, etc.) each of the different sizes holds you don't even need use a measuring cup. A large sized scoop will hold a different amount of flour than it does sugar or coffee, so I label each container " 1 Heaping Scoop = 1/2 cup, or 1 Level Scoop = 1/4 cup, etc."

I've had these aluminum scoops for a few months now and use them as part of a "scoop your own potpourri" set up in an antique store. I was a little concerned with how the outer coating would hold up over time (hoping it wasn't going to tarnish or start chipping), but I have to say, so far so good. No chipping and no tarnishing over the last few months. The price point was right for a package of 4 scoops and their size is perfect for the size potpourri bags that I purchased. Happy with my purchase so far.

These are great. I like the sleek, lightweight design, as I keep this stored in with the stuff it scoops, and it's not too heavy and plays well with glass containers. I keep one in the ice bin in the freezer, much nicer than grabbing cubes with hands. We have lots of other bulk items, including oxi laundry booster and peanuts in shell that have one of these scoops in their bin.Aluminum of any kind blackens in a dishwasher. Something to do with the reaction to the detergent. Wash this by hand, like other aluminum items, unless you don't care. The darkening doesn't harm or impede use, it's just not pretty.

I would give these 5 stars if they did not have the type of sticker on them that requires goo gone to get off! With so many other options available its irritating when a company chooses to use this type of sticker on something that will be in contact with food. Other than that, these are great little scoops. I'm going to use them in my flour, sugar, etc. canisters.
