I purchased the 8 foot chain and both my wife and I, like it very much. We wanted something unique, but not too flashy. The problem with this product is the cup spacing between one and the other is too wide. Hence, during a heavy downpour water spurts out in all directions and doesn't concentrate down the center of each hole or exit. What I did to remedy this, is to remove the larger copper wire support for each cup and replace it with a #10 electrical conduit copper wire piece and redesigned the connections by making the spacing between each cup much smaller. What happens then is the length is no longer 8 feet , but around 5-6 feet. So what I did is placed a rain barrel under the chain and now we have rain water that we use for our potted plants. Shortening the spacing, corrected the unsightly splattering which not only doesn't look good, but splatters water all over the house. I wasn't fully satisfied, but I did like the design and didnt want to return it. Pricing was a little too high for the faulty design and with a little ingenuity correcting the problem may add a larger price tag as you'll have to get the extra 4 feet to compensate for the shortening of the chain.
