Great just not for me...
I feel so guilty giving just 4 stars... Here in Maine 95% of the people could not eat this in any amount, WAY TOO HOT... but for me I find it milder than what I am used to from Africa(Nigeria). Capsaicin(one of the worlds oldest spice due mainly to its medicinal use) is where its at for a strong imune system and it is found in abundance in chilli peppers... to the best of my knowledge the chilli peppers that I am acustom to are a variety that came from Jamaica in the 15th century brought to west Africa by the Portuguese and established in the "City of Blood"(Benin) around 1480AD... today they are grown thruout Nigeria but Mainley in Edo State...http://www.cassavabiz.org/agroenterprise/ent%20images/pepper_01.pdf (here is where your tax dollars are going... I am not sure about the pepper in this jar but I can tell you that it is a variety grown and exported in and from Nigeria along with South Africa, and many other African countries but to a lessor degree... it is robust and has a good twang when cooked and let stand... the heat that it delivers is of a variety that I am not a fan of but have found that all who I have given this to have or will purchase because it is new to them and they have found it more versitile than what they have been using... it does blend well with rice, meat and fish... I have requested some pepper from Sapele Nigeria and may add to this when it arrives... I can tell you that the pepper that is prevelant in Sapele is not the same as the pepper that is most liked in Warri some 30 miles away... I can also tell you that different tribes, living within the same community prefer different pepper... as for me I am Itserkiri... my Yuroba friends cook with a different pepper althou we live in the same house... all my best...
