Has lots of good pictures so you can see what you’re making
I bought this for my husband. He loves all the pictures. He’s from Italy and loves her cooking. I hope it gives him a lot of suggestions for future dishes.

We have watched several of her shows on PBS & decided to try the cookbook. Receipes are easier than I thought they would be & uses everyday ingredients.

Great ideas and awesome recipes.
Loved the recipes,though I wish that the text was a bit larger, and not on shiny paper... I think that I would have enjoyed preparing more recipes...unfortunately it was a struggle to read at least for me. Sorta disappointing .I do hope that.the younger generation can find the time to learn how to cook so authenticity like Lydia.this is beautiful cook book not just about cooking but the Family the cultural elements for the love of food and joy of family time.. Never the less I mean no negative offense..only good thoughts when I watch the yummy cooking shows of her incredible Italian delights, It is always without fail...Incredible how it always takes me back to my early childhood years in our home on weekends in Mom's and Dad's kitchen and dinning room. Sunday dinners where our extended family members. Always just seamed to showed up.So if anything.....I think its a great book that I am able thankfully, transport the old but good cooking thoughts and all the past happy family memories of loved ones past on exemplify the very simular take of Italian cuisine. Thanks for the all reminders

Lidia is my girl!
I love Lidia. There I said it. She is fantastic. If you have ever watched her on Channel 9, you know what I'm talking about. If not, go youtube her this minute. Anyway, she gives really beautiful, classic Italian recipes in this book. Many of them are very easy to throw together, and everything is delicious. The flavor profiles are clean and often simple but come together with a delicious, powerful result.Truly all her recipes are rather easy for intermediary cookers (newbies might find them a bit more challenging, but still worth it!)My husband and I are avid cookers & eaters of all types of cuisine, so we expect a lot from a truly traditional recipe. And this cook book delivers. You won't find dull, bland or over-sauced recipes here. The key ingredients will shine perfectly and your meal will be an experience. Lidia gives brief notes on regional influences, optional alterations to many of the recipes, and notes on the best type of produce or ingredient and why. You will find you have an overall better grasp of the marriage of flavors and ingredients for Italian cuisine that will help you in creating your own recipes or tweaking your existing go-to meals.I can't even remember all the recipes we've made from this book (probably most at this point) but here are some of our favs we return to often:Rice Balls (If you make one recipe in your entire life, do this one. Review of Lidia's Favorite Recipes
This book has become one of my favorites as it has given me all the recipes that Lidia likes while also showing me how easy it is to make any one of the 100 recies in the book. It has increased my love for Italian food by two fold and makes want to watch PBS every Saturday just to see Lidia in action. She truly has becomed one of my favorite chefsand the book has allowed me greater access into the mind of a wonderful chef.
