Mummy Fairy and Me: Unicorn Wishes

Silly stories of a clumsy mother
Two stars for female lead characters in fiction aimed at kids. I know how rare that is. My desperate search for such books leads me to buy drivel like this.I found the plot altogether quite silly, characters don't learn or grow or discover anything very new here. Mother can basically turn herself into a "fairy" who randomly can and cannot do magic depending on the mood of her wand - her fails are the challenges and the successes are the happy endings. That's the whole plot.Is it teaching any morals? Yes - the moral is that mothers are typically bad at cooking, being on time, and remembering basic things like buying spaghetti for an important playdate when the kid's friends come over. The moral is also that such laziness and downright amnesia can be cured but a bunch of wrong spells because in the end something good will randomly happen.Incidentally the Dad is the responsible one, his character gets very little description or development, but is called upon to clean up messes the old fashioned way - like handle a car completely wreaked by bad magic spells or clean up a toddler who rolled around in spaghetti.

Great book
Me and my daughter love mummy fairy and me books, I brought her this book from the newborn baby, which my daughter was very happy about as means no sharing mummy at bedtime, we laughed just as much as the other 2 books, and we alway stamp our feet and wiggle our bums, they are great little story’s for little kids between 4 and 8 and maybe older as my little girl is 6y and we will keep buying as long as Sophie keeps writing them x
