Good toy, bad cat
Iâve bought a lot of cat toys... despite my cat always choosing the cardboard box it was shipped in. Iâve got a single girl who doesnât know how to play nice with other pets.. and just doesnât know how to play overall. I keep trying to find something to entertain her without me having to interact, and a lot of these electronic toys seem to be a miss with her.My cat, like many cats, seems to like this whole âreach into tiny holesâ thing and I figured this would do the trick.... it didnât. The price point is about right and the product itself is of decent quality. Itâs hard to find the on/off button but the toy itself is nearly silent which is kind of nice. If you put the little ball inside, it will make noise from the ball being knocked around and the bell jingling inside it. My little girl just canât play... doesnât matter what I buy her. Sheâll ball up like a turkey nearby and just stare at it while it knocks the ball around... but the interaction isnât much. I donât blame the toy for that and anyone who does, just doesnât understand cats. Thereâs probably days where sheâll go hard on it and play for a good 10 minutes... but it just depends on how sheâs feeling and I need to learn how to deal with that so I donât keep on buying more and more electronic toys which she will never go cat crazy over.Itâs a good toy if your cat knows how to play. The hard to find button is a bit annoying personally, but otherwise itâs a good deal and you just need to understand that some cats will be like my girl, some will play with it occasionally and some will go nuts over it the majority of time. Theyâre cats!

cat toy
Great toy, both of my kitties like it, it shuts off automatically after about ten minutes which is totally necessary or the batteries wouldn't last long. It's over priced but I'm glad I went ahead and got it.

I finally found a toy my cat will play with!
We have 2 cats, and one will play with almost anything, but the other one is very persnickety. He likes for his humans to entertain him (and even then, he's very particular about the kinds of games he wants to play), and doesn't very often play with toys independently. So when I saw all the reviews on this one, and watched the videos, I decided to give it a try. After all, I figured I could always send it back if he doesn't like it.No fears there! As soon as I turned it on and set it down, he was fascinated with that whirly thing inside. Given that it's motor-driven, it really is very quiet. The only noise is the whir of the fuzzy arm going around, and I'm pretty sure it's that noise that attracted my boy, so that's a good thing. And it seems to be fairly sturdy. I don't find any seams in the plastic housing where it might potentially break apart. He's flipped it a few times and jerked it around (his paw got momentarily stuck in one of the top holes, until he figured out to relax it so it would uncurl), and it doesn't faze it at all. It's like the Energizer bunny of toys: it just keeps on running! He does tend to lose interest after a short period of time, maybe 5 minutes or so, so I haven't had a chance to test out whether it turns off automatically or not. But he definitely hasn't lost interest in it completely! Just this morning he pulled one of his usual tricks to get my attention, and then led me out to the toy so I would turn it on. (Who says cats can't "speak"?? It was perfectly clear what he wanted!)All that said, my other cat is actually afraid of it, so it may not be good for all cats. I think she doesn't like that whirly noise and the speed of the "feather." She may come around eventually, but since I bought it mostly for my other cat anyway, I'm happy.

Please do not purchase this item!
I have an active 1 year old cat who gets bored easily with toys. It is hard to play with her since she wants to play all of the time and never seems to get tired. I brought this with the hope that she would be able to play by herself but boy was I wrong. As soon as I took it out of the box and put the batteries in, she was immediately interested and started swatting at the white tail of this toy. She was very intrigued and I thought "Wow, this is exactly what I was looking for!"I went about my business and focused my attention on something else in the room. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that my cat was dragging this toy under the table. I thought she really loved it, if she wanted to bring it to her secret to stash. Boy was I wrong! While under the table, she was frantically moving and started crying. I looked under there and seen that her paw was stuck inside of of the holes and she was dragging the toy around, attempting to remove her paw. She backed out from underneath the table, moving erratically, and this toy was still stuck on her paw. I attempted to calm her down and move her paw from the toy but it was even hard for me to do because I didn't want to hurt her. After getting some help holding her down, I was able to unhook her paw from the the inside of the toy. I scratched my fingers on the hard, un-smooth plastic on the inside of this "death trap"Once removed, I took a look inside and realized, that while the outside of this toy is smooth, the inside has hard, scratchy plastic, and while playing, my cats claws got stuck in this plastic. No matter how much she moved, the plastic kept digging into her fur - hence why she started crying. Please do not buy this. IT IS NOT WORTH THE EMERGENCY VET BILL! I am so happy to my cat's paw is ok. I immediately put this hazardous toy back in the box and returned it the next day.

My cats didn't care for it
At the first the cats were intrigued but grew bored of it. It turns off after 15 minutes but you have to manually turn it back on each time. I was with the understanding that it ran automatically but maybe I misunderstood the description. I wouldn't buy it again but that's not to say another cat or owner wouldn't like it.In my opinion, the feather moves too fast and after several days of using it, all my cats did stare at it (or walk away) instead of try to interact with it
