About 7 years ago I bought this sweater from a local retailer in a pretty dark cream color (not available here). It’s such a cozy, classy, dress up or down essential in my wardrobe that I searched for it online. The sweater that I ordered (dark blue) is exactly the same, just as pretty and elegant, with the same quality wool yarn. It’s definitely snugger than the one I’ve been wearing for years and I imagine it will loosen up over time. If you’re a lover of Irish wool sweaters I highly recommend this. You can’t go wrong. I’ve worn it hiking, to business meetings and over a dress on a night out. If you want one with room to layer you may want to order a size up. If you want one that fits snugly over a dress or fitted outfit, order your size. I'm 5’4 and 115 lbs and the small fits to a T. Before ordering this I ordered another one from this company with a scrunched waist that hit me in the wrong place and looked bulky. This one is simpler and more flattering.

I purchased a cardigan style of this sweater a couple of years ago on Amazon. It was awesome, but too warm for our climate. We recently moved to a colder place and I immediately thought of this sweater. The longer version is beautiful, flattering and WARM! The quality is so impressive and the style is a little different than the traditional, which is a plus for me. Amazon suggested size large for me, but my other one was a medium, so that's what I bought. Fits perfectly.

Due to reviews saying to size down, I ordered a small instead of a medium, and now have to return it because it's too small in the chest for me (I'm a 36D)...so I would order your regular size unless you have a small bust line. The quality of the garment itself is outstanding and I can't remember the last time I've been this impressed with a piece of clothing. The wool is thick and very warm, but not itchy at all. I did find the sweater to be a bit heavy on my shoulders since it's a long, thick wool coat...I may order the shorter version of this to reduce the weight of it. Of course wool like this is best spot cleaned only (it'll shrink badly if you wash it), but I find as along as I wear a shirt under it that's not deal breaker for me.

Beautiful sweater. Fit was perfect. Wool is very soft and warm. This sweater could be worn as a jacket or here in the south a coat. The knitting is well done and stitch pattern traditional and intricate.

Purchased it for my spouse: it looks better on than in the advertisement! Outstanding quality in craftsmanship, texture, color, and fit. I wonder how long it will last, but until that time arrives I am going to continue to love seeing her in it.

This is a great investment sweater. I inherited another Aran Crafts sweater from my mom six years ago and loved it so much that I bought myself one in a different color and style. I was not disappointed. It's such great quality that I know it will also last me years to come. The knit design is beautiful and intricate; photos don't do it justice. You will not be disappointed.
