Get something more reliable.
Took off three stars for defective problems and one star for burning myself. As a frequent outdoorsman, I would prefer to stay away from this product. One of the containers came with a leak in the bottom. Unbeknownst to myself, I lit the container on fire as opposed to the wick thanks to leaking fuel. The second defect is minor but the metal plates are poorly glued on. One came off in the packaging...The third is major. Flint came right out of the slip. Totally useless...Will be returning...

Difficult to use
Really hard to get lit- took me any thirty strokes the first time and then the flame was really small and they are hard to fill- you need to purchase kerosene to put in them- I guess in an emergency I’ll be glad I have them, but not ideal for a lighter replacement

Don't bother
It is funny how it says forever match. I wish it was. The wick burns off very quick, literally, you strike, blow it off, and the wick keeps smoldering until it burns off completely. So even after a single strike you have to pull out your pliers, pull out the flint out and re-arrange the wick. Some have the flint sitting in so hard that even a grown man can't pull it out. Making you do this after every strike and calling it 'forever match', I'd rather keep using my matches or a multipurpose light. Better buy a multipurpose lighter, it will last you a lot longer and give you less headache. Returning this junk. Matches still win, even a single match will burn much longer than this fake of an attempt to replace a real match. Very cheap product.

Good design, cheap hardware.
The permanent match works well, holding lighter fluid for weeks at a time in a undisturbed environment.I am concerned about the O-rings decomposing under exposure to gasoline if used as an alternate fuel. Finally, the ring connecting the body to the key ring is flimsy; one snag and it's pulled open.Need to address spare O-rings and replacing the hardware with heavier split rings.

Build quality
The Good -- cheap, you get five and they work, so if one breaks you don't feel quite as bad about it.The Bad -- tank part is plastic and has a cotton wick in the bottom. (to clarify I am calling the cotton ball looking thing in the bottom of the plastic tank a wick and the other wick is a string looking wick in the match stick) It is very easy when inserting the metal match, for the match to hit the wick inside the tank and cross thread the metal match when screwing it in. If you cross thread the metal match into the plastic tank it ruins threads and thus the seal. When this happened on one of the two I have been playing around with, I decided to try to save the wick that is on the match stick. This wick is said to be replaceable (they give you extras). All you have to do is pull the striking rod out of the metal match tube with a pair of pliers. When I did this, the threaded end of the match pulled off of the hollow tube and the rod and wick never came out. at this point i said forget it and pitched the entire damaged unit. All this said, they work, I am not sure I would want to rely on this particular permanent match in a survival situation. I think this one is more of a novelty item.

junk
the first one I opened and try to put in lighter fluid, the fluid dripped out the bottom of the cylinder , didn't even bother with the other four

Great Match
I purchased these because of prior ratings and Qty. I have "Go" bags for my family and these are simple fill/cap/uncap/use items. Worked each strike and are a great addition. Filled all and set aside for a week. Fluids did not evaporate over the week and remained full. Good product, and I carry 2 at a time as spare flame/fire starter to the Bic lighter I take along.

Not really worth it
These should be $1-2 each max. The lettering rubs off VERY easily. The wick burns FAST. It's a mess to fill it with lighter fluid. It's a pain in the ass to change the wick. Will never buy this gimmick again. Stick to matches or a lighter.
