The Big Book of Oldies: 73 Classic Hits from the '50s and '60s (Piano, Vocal and Guitar Sheet Music) Paperback – Illustrated, May 1, 2002

I was asked to play for a retirement party, with the retiree wanting 60s music. I play piano bar, so mostly jazz standards, movie themes, etc. Had to search for 60s genre at the last minute. I had a blast playing these great old hits. I'm an advanced intermediate player, and was able to sight-read all easily. The notation was simple, but complex enough to keep it interesting for the audience. Had some of the guests sing along, including, "Get A Job." I loved these songs so much, I'm going to work some into my playlist at the club, especially "Green Onions" and "When A Man Loves A Woman."

this book has a great selection of music! The only down side is that- as a teacher I need to make copies of the music, and the music goes so close to the edge and the book is so large that it's really difficult fitting everything on the same page. Otherwise, great book of music with a variety of classic hits.

Can't go wrong with this book for either piano or guitar or both. Large enough to read easily and has the guitar chords for easy learning. All great songs. Go buy it now!

This is a good music for baby boomer guitar players. Many recognizable melodies that we played in the "garage band" days. A very fun walk down memory lane. Good seller with quick shipping.

Great hits from my salad days written in a style that lets me play them without getting frustrated. I played piano for 20 years then spent 20 years totally away from the piano. These songs are arranged for an upper level beginner or first level intermediate and just what I needed to ease back into playing.

songs are nice, but where are solos? Chords are nice and easy, but what I really need is solo. There ain't no Tab score. you just have written chords… If you can read piano score, maybe it's fine. But this is also for the guitarists, so this bool is incomplete.

Easy to read, accurate and makes for a great time with friends and family! My dad and I get together often to play the tunes from this book.

If you need music sheets and you want to play classic oldies music this is terrific. As for myself, I like oldies music a lot. I subscribe to a number of on line oldies music services, and I also watch a lot of the oldies videos on line.I thought it was a CD disk pack and ordered it. I returned it because I do not play any music instrument and I do not know how to read music well enough to appreciate this book. When I opened the package I looked at some of the pages. it is very well printed and is very clear from what I saw.If you are a musician and you want to play oldies music, and or you can read music, this appears to be an excellent book!
