An excellent player! Works flawlessly with any format. It's tiny, but the quality of picture is great as well as is the music (I'm using it with a projector and watching a lot of music DVDs). I absolutely recommend it for anybody in need of a great blu ray player.

Works just fine. Ignore the 1 star reviews that fault this player for not being able to play DVD's or Bluray's out of the box. It's a software issue that depends on your system - it has nothing to do with this product whatsoever. Nowhere in the description does it state that it comes with software that will play Bluray or DVD movies. You need VLC Media player and additional Codecs to do this, all of which can be easily Googled. These units are a bit expensive in general, but it seems to be working fine.

I'm hoping it'll work out later, but it won't work. I've got an hp laptop with windows 10 and the computer recognizes it but it wont play anything. I've downloaded the VLC media player recommended and still nothing. I got it so I would be able to play my blu-ray discs on my laptop since I’m not taking a blu-ray player to the dorm; but so far it is not plug and play. Any help or suggestions are welcome. If I can get it to work right I may update this or I'll just return it. We’ll see.- The seller reached out and they have fantastic customer service. I explain what was happening and they stated that it may have been defective and the suggested exchange or return. Could not make it work but they are fantastic at helping you through it. Had no luck with the product but defined recommend the company.

There is only one problem with the unit--it only recognizes there is a disc in the drive about 33% of the time.The rest of the time, you have to eject the disc and try again, or press the eject button 40 times to get it to recognize there is a disc in the drive. Worse, the eject won't work 90% of the time, and you have to use a pin to eject the disc.I'm trying to upload 3000 CDs to a large hard drive, and I need 100% reliability. I've only been able to do about 10 discs so far.Simply not recommended.

I bought this to have a dvd drive when I built my new computer. I spent hours trying to figure out why I couldnt boot from disc. Eventually I gave up and put in my old internal drive even though I dont have a slot for it in my tower. Old drive worked no problem. Once windows was installed I tried the drive again, it read blu ray files but couldnt play discs, it wouldn't read dvd at all. I tried to find drivers for it and all the google results showed forums of people complaining about the same issues. Waste of money do not buy.

This device will allow you to read the data on a BD disk but won't play a BD movie on your computer. As it says it doesn't write to blue ray either so I don't get why it's associated with Blu ray at all. Otherwise it's a good CD and DVD player but don't buy it because it's Blu ray capable because it isn't
