Jewelry of the Stars: Creations from Joseff of Hollywood

Just received this book and I’m getting a kick out of it. BUT after a quick look I detected two easily corrected mistakes in two of the actresses wearing Joseff . There are probably more. This book needed an editor!

It’s very interesting book about rare vintage jewels made by Joseff of Hollywood! There are many black and white pictures from movies, and also pictures of jewels in color. Very good item to collect!

As a present-day jewelry designer, I've become a fan of the beauty and elegance of costume jewelry. The glamor of the old Hollywood jewelry will never die. Recently there's been a resurgence in the popularity of the older pieces, and this book is chock full of examples. The photography is stunning, and the close-ups give invaluable information as to construction. If you're a fan of old Hollywood, or looking to interpret old designs into new ideas, this is a great reference book. The photographs of the stars alone are enough to purchase it! "The Good Ole Days," the Golden Age of Hollywood, with the glitz and the glamor, live on in this gorgeous volume. I've been inspired and energized to incorporate old themes into modern interpretations. Strongly recommended to designers and admirers of jewelry or the legends of Hollywood.

I have several pieces of Joseff jewelry. It's great to know in which movies they were worn an the history behind certain pieces.

Interesting read for the Hollywood history buff. I agree with other reviewers that the jewelry was photographed with strange looking props that took something away from their inherent beauty. Also, it doesn't appear that a professional photographer was hired to capture the jewels. Many of the photos are dark and poorly lit, causing the details to be lost in shadow. However, other photos are fine (those pieces captured with a white background). Loved the vintage photos that showed the stars actually wearing the pieces in publicity movie stills.

Love all the jewelry from Joseff but I really want the big book but it is too expensive $200. I will wait for a sale. Thank you so much.
