Know your socket geometry retinaman
worked well but not easily useful....bulb did great was correct length my problem heretofor not known was that my fixtures had reinforcement ridges in it that ran along the lower and upper edge insert contact point s inside base of fisture....this became a deal breaker....this bulbs are the correct length but what is not so obvious is that have about twice the thickness circumferential dimension of the stand halogen bulbs and they would not fit unless you went to a lot of troulbe to cut away these wrought iron ridges ....about 8 fixtures 4 ridges per fixtire amd fixtures in m trees...unfortunatelly ridges can not be broken or snapped off....takes power tools and great access.... it was a deal breaker for me......maybe your fixture not like mine but you must consider thickness as well as length when sizing these bulbs......note when I cut ridges off one fixture and put bulb in, it came on true and bright.

Plenty of light and zero heat.
I purchased this bulb to replace a 150-watt halogen bulb in my torchiere floor lamp in my 12 x 12 office. I also replaced 2 desktop 40 watt lamps with LED bulbs. The heat emitting from my 3 lamps, especially the halogen torchiere lamp, was causing the temperature in my office to be 7 degrees higher than the rest of the house resulting in me having to turn the window AC on. After replacing all 3 bulbs with LED bulbs, the temperature in my office has been reduced by 6 degrees. The amount of light from this bulb is nearly as bright as the 150 watt halogen bulb I used previously. There is no detectable heat coming from this LED bulb. I did make some minor modifications to the aluminum reflector plate to allow this LED to fit since this LED bulb has a larger circumference than the halogen bulb. Definitely a wise decision going with this LED. I no longer turn the room AC nearly as frequently to keep the office at a decent temperature.

Poor Life -- Only lasted 13 months
The LED light burned out after 13 months of limited use. I installed two of these as replacements for my high power halogen ceiling fan bulbs. One is still working, but one is dead. They worked just fine, dimmer than I expected, but acceptable. However, as LED bulbs, I expected a much longer life.

Good light, dims smoothly
This fit right in where the 300 watt halogen bulb was. Although not as bright as the halogen, this gives off a good amount of light and dims smoothly and with no flickering. 30 watts vs 300 watts? I'll take it!

The correct product and delivered when they said it would be.
Many advisories about LEDs not as bright as halogen. LEDs more expensive than halogen, but 1/10th the wattage and very little heat make it a fair trade-off. There is still plenty of light output for general lighting in a room.

Really like them to save energy but not too bright
My headline pretty much sums it up that I really like the LED design but they just not too bright. Hopefully the future models will be brighter...

Works great, not even close to as bright as the original halogen (but it's OK!)
I knew that they would not be as bright when I ordered, so no stars removed. As I said, the dimmable 10W LEDs throw much less light than the original halogen bulbs they replace, but I'm pleased. Quick shipping, quality seems fine.I use a couple of those yellow work lights, and am tired of the filaments breaking from a small drop or from knocking the fixtures around. I suspect that these won't break easily. They are bright enough for my use, so thanks for these!

Stopped working less than 2 months
The merchant's description says these bulbs last for 30,000 hours -- that's 3 1/2 years if turned on 24 hours per day. I used the bulbs in a desk lamp that is turned on about 15 hours per day. At that rate, these bulbs should have lasted about 5 1/2 years if their useful life is really 30,000 hours. These come 2 bulbs per box, the 1st one lasted about 4 months at 15 hours per day, but the 2nd one lasted only about 1 month. Saying they last 30,000 hours is a blatant lie and a real rip-off, but, of course, since I'm past the 30-day return limit, guess I'll just have to eat the $18 I paid for them.
