I am very happy with this flute.The only issue I had was that, at first, it was extremely difficult/impossible to insert the foot joint into the flute body. Since I had not had any prior experience with flutes I did not know if this was normal, so I posted the issue on a bulletin board and was advised by someone to apply vaseline to the tenon while someone else advised to return the flute and to NEVER PUT VASELINE or ANY TYPE OF LUBRICANT on your tenon, because it can get into the mechanisms and attract dust and impurities that can cause some serious problems over time.I decided to follow the advice on several websites which indicate to clean the tenons with rubbing alcohol (note that these websites also advise NOT TO APPLY ANY KIND OF OIL/GREASING AGENTS). So I cleaned the tenons with rubbing alcohol several times and now I am able to insert the footjoint into the body much easier. It still does not go in as easily as the headjoint (the headjoint just slides in while the footjoint may need turning back and forward a bit while pushing in), but it works fine, especially given that since the tenon on the footjoint end is much shorter than that of the headjoint, it makes sense to have a tighter fit to ensure that it will not easily/accidentally fall off.I am now learning to play with a DVD I borrowed at my local library: Play Flute Today! The Ultimate Self-Teaching Method! with Kaye Clements. This DVD teaches assembly and maintenance, breathing and posture, producing sound, holding the flute, fingering, music reading, playing notes, etc. There are also some good videos on the internet that I may try later, after I learn the basics with this DVD.Good luck and hope this helps!

Good starter flute for elementary school kid learning to play. Tuning is somewhat limited but it is a good cheap alternative to the more expensive music store rental or purchase option. Costs one third what they charge.

I purchased this to replace my daughter's flute she uses in high school band. I had purchased her another brand a couple years ago, but it didn't hold up at all. This one is made 1000x better and functionally is great. The band instructor was pleased with it as well & even asked for the information to order a couple more.

A little difficult to take apart once you get it together. Arrived on time for first year band. Will let you know how it holds up.

The flute was in perfect condition got everything with it. The delivery was slow for me but that is because I live on the other side of the country. XD And it plays perfectly for me. I'm beginning in band and my friend suggested a flute. And so far this product has done well.

The tone is horrible, the tuning is impossible and by the time you figure it out that its the flute and not you its too late to return it. Very Disappointed would not recommend this flute even for a beginner because it is so discouraging. I am a flute player so should have known better. Please think twice on this one!

The flute shipped to me with air leakage of the keys, it is non-functional. The air tight keys are the most important function of a flute. I try to contact with the seller, the response from the seller was nonresponsible and unprofessional. Very unpleaset experince, the flute is cheap, but it is not worth of my time.

It's been many many years since I played the flute and was worried about which instrument to buy. I love playing this flute and I'm so glad to have gotten back into doing something that makes me feel so good.
