little of value
I bought this book hoping it might contain suggestions that would help my 13-year-old control his temper. The good thing about this book is that it makes it clear to your kid that s/he is not the only angry teenager in the world. It provides first-hand accounts of the feelings of other angry kids. What is disappointing about this book is that it has few concrete suggestions to help kids prevent or recover from the loss of self-control that comes with a fit of anger. ("Count to 10" is one of the better ones -- but who needs to buy a book to learn that?)I found "Yes, Your Teen Is Crazy" to be a much more helpful book; while its primary target is parents, my son found it helpful too.

Good advice
This was recommended for my 12 year old, and it's a little over his maturity level. Your mileage may vary. I'm keeping it for later, it seems straighforward and teaches good coping skills.

this book has it all for teens, teachers, and families
I love Hot Stones & Funny Bones and plan on bringing it to my upcoming education and teaching seminars. It flushes out anger styles and hot buttons, describing realistic situations with many practical solutions that kids could imagine doing because many are solutions from them. Great for peer mediation and individual, family use too. Brian Luke Seaward's use of humor is consistent with some of his other books about stress management, and is particularly effective for teens in anger situations-- they especially need the model and appreciate quick wit that doesn't talk down to them.

Hot Stones and Funny Bones
Everyone should read this book as a way to understand our youth culture. Young people want to be heard (even when they shut us out); often, they are crying out for help. This book presents a starting point for talking to teens about how they see the world and, more important, how they feel about their place in the world.

This is a totaly awesome book it has so many cool insights of so many different teens. This is a good book to read if you need advise or just to realize that your not alone in the world when it becomes different and unknown. I hope that all teenagers read this book, because everyone will get something out of it!

Excellent compiled piece
If you're in need of some advice, input, or even some general knowledge about kids coping with issues today, this book is the book for you. It discusses plenty of everyday ways that teens deal with stress and anger today. On top of that, this book includes a lot of examples of what kids these days are really into. From quotes, to poetry, to personal description, this book focuses on how teens live life and grow as a person. So I suggest this book for anyone who would find the need to finding out more about teens!

Honest and Intriguing
This book gives insight to the real teenager and thoughts they may not normally share in a verbal manner. It is honest and expressive in a way that kids can relate to. What a wonderful reading for both adults and kids.
