The Gift of Mind, Consciousness and Thought Impact Human Behavior and Structure
Recently I read Stillpower: The Inner Source of Athletic Excellence by Garret Kramer. I enjoyed this quick and insightful 195-page book dealing with improving coaches and athlete's mindset and performance. While the author uses numerous sports related examples to explain "Stillpower," he admits Sydney Banks' influence on his thinking and recommends "Syd's most poignant book, The Missing Link:Reflections on Philosophy and Spirit" stating that he keeps that book on his office desk and another at home. How could I resist purchasing the book that was the inspiration for Kramer's epiphany? I could not!Banks explains the function of the Mind, Consiousness and Thought as innate gifts that guide us through life and form human behavior and social structure. He defines those gifts and explains their byproducts. While thought is not real, it is through our thought that we create our realities, happiness or suffering.Further, Sydney talks about the illusionary duality of life and the missing link between our psychological and spiritual nature. He speaks of learning, feelings, forgiveness, living in the present and wisdom. In 142 short and simple pages, Sydney Banks provides truths and insights that if read open-mindedly can lead to a positive mindset, performance and happiness. This book was a joy to read. Enjoy!

Easy to read and every page contains a gem
This book is simple to understand and easy to read. There’s much to reflect on, and so it’s a book I will want to read again to have more insights. My only complaint is that I could not find it in audio book format. I would love to listen to this book over and over again.

A short quick read
I would say about this book, what the author has said, "Never follow the words of others blindly, or you will only take on another person’s reality. You will only hinder your progress by seeking fool’s gold. Use your own common sense."

Deep and full of wisdom
Easy to read and yet full of concepts that may take time to process. Philosophy of life that I may have read a few times to really understand and include this into my conscious mind

Closer to enlightenment
I've never experienced enlightenment, until now! Such wisdom and direction found in so few words. Best information that my mind has ever been exposed to.

Eyeopener with just a few words per page to consider, worth every penny of it.
I've never came accross Syd Banks or his books till now. Was recommended this specific book by one of his life long friends and, at first, I was slightly annoyed by the few words per page you get for your money but started to read beyond the upsetness and expectation which caused my own disappointment...Massive good feeling that I did read on and on and on and kept on munching what he was saying per page."Getting" what he is saying and taking on board what he brings accross: marvelously simple and profound to the point.Combine Mooji, Ramana, Nisargadatta, Tolle et al with Damassio and Panksepp to blend spirituality with new science insights to see where the missing link is: right there where mind, consciousness and thought reside, in you and me and see how much over-thinking we are actually doing. Thinking should be a pleasure, not a curse. Switch off the thinking by just looking at it with a smile.Highly recommended book for fellow life travellers

A Must Read for Anyone Wanting to Understand The Three Principles- Go To The Source First !
The Missing Link is the most spiritual of all of Syd Banks writings. A short book but packed with wisdom to help you understand the Three Principles in great depth. This is the first book anyone should go to when they first come across the principles however please read it to enjoy it. Do not read it trying desperately to intellectually understand it....relax and let the beautiful feeling wash over you slowly and gently.

Deeper and simpler
I battled with this book until I learned to let go. Having read biographical bits about the author and those around him I can trust him. It's a bit like Jesus and the disciples. They struggle to catch on. This is distilled wisdom, neither diluted nor on the rocks. I take it slow like a good whisky, and return to it repeatedly in small doses letting it sink in. It's life changing and self affirming, once you drop the small self and tune into the larger one. Sydney teaches you too drop the teachers and tune in for yourself.

Poor formatting.
At last a kindle version to add to my paper and ibook versions. The content, in my opinion, will always deserve 5 stars. However, I have deducted a star because the formatting is poor, particularly compared to the Apple ibook version. The same applies to the other Sydney Banks books, which are now available in kindle format. I hope this can be rectified, and when this happens, I will change my rating to 5 stars.

forgive my negative thoughts but what a rip off
After reading the enlightened gardener and more Sid banks disciples books I feel there is nothing new here.I also think, if the late Sid Banks new this "not much more than a pamphlet" was being sold for a tenner he wouldhave added a fourth principle ,Don't rip off the gullible ..Like all so called Enlightened people , seem to end up gravitating to North America where a foundation arises as a money makingmachine..
