KUBEY VG-10 Damascus Etched Gentleman Folding Pocket Knife, Abalone Handle Locking Liner, 3-3/4-Inch Closed (Shell)

First off, this item shipped fast and packaged well. This knife is razor sharp, and very beautiful. The knife came with a dual beaded lanyard that matched perfectly. It also came with a mother-of-pearl inlaid (Right-handed) thumb release. The handle does have genuine Abalone, but is encapsulated in atleast 30% crystal acrylic (as can be viewed in attached pics.) The added acrylic does add enough girth to the handle for a secure grip. The blade itself has durable hardness for usability. The etched Damascus design is attractive, the actual carbon steel Demascus content is sandwiched, making up again about 30% of the blade (seen in the attached pics.) This knife is fair priced, decent enough for a collector, or for everyday carry.

First I want to start with the bad, the only thing I can say was shipping was expected between the 8th and 16th and I didn't get my knife till almost 2 weeks later so that was unfortunate but once it arrived I was more than pleased! The knife itself it absolutely gorgeous, there's absolutely no blade play what so ever, the fit and finish is tight and beautiful and the blade came hair shaving Sharp and oiled to protect it. Other than the 1 month wait time I was beyond pleased with this beautiful piece of work!

This item is a very nice knife for everyday use. Sharp.... as in be a "little careful". Beautiful enough to open a board room vote tally envelope.It is very lightweight. You won't notice it's presence even when wearing jeans. I would not use it as my solo blade during hand to hand combat, though without going into "detail", this knife would save the life of anyone with a firm grasp of human anatomy. I"m glad I made this purchase. The most action it will ever see, is cutting pineapple for the little cockatoo sitting next to me. RasD Scale 9.7

Very pretty and very sharp for the first few uses however the blade dulls easily so it's a great show piece but not very good at utility absolutely beautiful though

This is my third knife purchased from Kubey and like the others this one is just as nice. The knife itself is a small folder , but the handle is large enough to get a decent grip on it. It's not a heavy duty folder, but more of a gentleman's knife.Like the others I've purchased , the fit , finish and materials used are excellent. The shell handle appears to be real with an acrylic overlay to protect the shell. The Damascus blade is of the stainless variety, similar to what Kershaw and Boker Plus uses on theirs. The beads are glass and the backspacer has some file work on it.Overall I'm pleased and I think you would be too.

nice little attractive knife. i can't believe how often i have a use for it. get lots of compliments on it too. hasn't loosened up or given me any reason to question it's quality, and definitely sharp enough for what i need it to do..

It's not actual Damascus steel but I wasn't expecting it to be. After all it's very cheap and in life you get what you pay for. A real Damascus steel knife with a real shell handle this size would be at least $100 but for what this is it is beautifully executed. The colors pop, there isn't much, if any, play in the blade when extended. It's very solid. And the stainless steel blade with the dark pattern overlayed looks like real Damascus steel from a few feet away. The only thing I was dissapointed in was the fact that the logo is not printed on the blade. In the pictures it has the KUBEY logo printed on the bottom of the blade and I thought it looked quite good, but upon opening my package there was no logo anywhere on the knife. Overall though, you can't do much better for the price. Well done.

Gorgeous knife! I was planning on removing the string, but it is really quite supple suede and it may come in handy as additional traction if my hands are wet. The handle is a thin layer of nacre at the base of the scale with clear resin going out, so it acts like a lens to make the colors move in an interesting way as you rotate the knife. Someone left a bad review (perhaps on another kubey knife) because their knife didn't have the kubey logo. That would have been fine with me, but my knife has the logo.This knife is razor sharp abd could probably take on tasks most pocket knives would struggle with, but I plan on using it exclusively for whimsical purposes like picking morels.
