I have no idea why other reviewers commented on the smell of the parts of this excerciser. It's made of steel except for the plastic pedals and rubber floor grippers (which work great by the way). The rubber grippers come in a seperate plastic bag, which, when opened, smelled a little bit like new rubber, but I don't think that's even a bad smell. Anyway, this thing is heavy enough and durable enough to replace an excercise bike. Let's face it, how many people buy excercise bikes and how many people don't use them after a short time. There is a tensioning knob that when tightened provides a harder pedal, but for now I'm using it more for the motion than the tension, so I think this thing is great.

The pedal exercise arrived and was assembled within fifteen minutes. Came with its own wrench to put it together. It was pedaled by foot for ten minutes and held up well. The tension system heats up when you want more resistance. There is a warning label, so it must get pretty hot to the touch if you were to tighten it up all the way and pedal like you were leaving the fiery pit of hell the first chance you got. That has me concerned a bit of what is going on inside the tensioner body. If it lasts a year (for the price), I'll be okay with the purchase.

Inexpensive and well-made exercise bike, without the small seat.I use it on a table bed, so I can sit bedside and adjust the height for use as an arm bike. Portable and storeable. Strong and light. It has a STEEL crank bearing,for long life--Not a nylon/plastic one. Great cardio exerciser! You need weight(s) to keep it from being pushed away; or use a piece of 2x8 plank up against a wall, so you can face the wall, and it will not move.

We got the Duro-Med Pedal Exerciser for my wife. She has recently had knee replacement surgery and it is working fine. It not only gives her exercise, but it is helping to keep the knee flexible and it building up the leg muscles. Delivery was also on time. It is simple and easy to put together. For someone like me withfive thumbs that was definitely a plus. One of these days I may even get to use itmyself.

Great aerobic exerciser for the money and very lightweight. Let cool down after using as metal does get a bit hot. The plastic leg stoppers do stink a bit, yet the plastic will off-gas. Works best on couch while watching TV/Movies. For anyone who is disabled or uninspired to work out, I highly recommend this to help get you back into shape.

Bought this after knee replacement surgery and full round of physical therapy. Gives the circular motion that helps in the rehab process.

I purchased this Duo-Med pedal exerciser several weeks ago. The rubber stabilizers are still sitting outside my house. They smell so bad I'm afraid I'll have an asthma attack if I bring them in. Of course the product is unusable without them. I can't believe the Company puts out a product with such a noxious smell. I should have sent it back but threw away all the boxes before I discovered the overpowering smell. I would not suggest that anyone buy this product.

This exerciser is fine for the arms but I bought it for my mom to use after her stroke & her feet will not stay on the pedals. It really needs a back strap to hold her feet on. For a healthy person, it works fine.
