KEENMen's Austin Low Height Leather Oxford

One of the BEST shoes I have EVER worn!
I think this pair is my fourth or fifth. I work for UPS and these are my "work shoes". I am on my feet nonstop, standing, climbing multipul flights of stairs/ and decending. Packages fall on my feet/toes. I use my feet as an anchor when leaning back to reach behind me (foot is under a panel and upward pressure keeps me from falling backward as my other foot is firm against the ground) allowing for an extra 1-2 ft of reach. I am very hard on them and I typically get at least 2 years of wear before they start looking heavily used and even then I probably get another 6 month to a year before they are coming apart. After about the first year I have had to replace the laces with 550 paracord. They have a clean, simple but unique appearance that I like. When in newer condition I occasionally receive compliments on them. I have worn Nike hiker style shoes and Timberland work boots but they do not compare to the comfort and durability of the Keen Austin. I LOVE them & dread the possibility of Keen discontinuing the style. Whenever I order a pair I have contemplated ordering two so I have a pair in reserve should Keen decide to stop manufacturing them. I do have a narrower foot than the average male but find the fit to be perfect after 2 or 3 days of work and the shoe has been "broken in". Plenty of wiggle room for my toes in this product. I wear Under Armour Heat Gear No Show style socks with them. If I were to make any changes to the shoe...I would pair them with stronger laces (550 paracord) and of course a lower price (we all want the prices to be less than the current price on every product we buy)...not to be misunderstood, they are not overpriced considering the quality, longevity, foot protection and comfort.

First impressions
I bought a pair of keen shoes many years ago and I was really satisfied with the comfort and quality, they lasted a long time. My only complaint was that they were a little heavy. Recently I had the need to buy a pair of comfortable walking shoes and began researching my options and reading reviews of the few that I liked. I decided to buy the Keen Austin, and I just got them yesterday. My first impressions are very positive overall. True to the size, I’m a 10 and sometimes depending on the brand I have to buy an extra 1/2 size up, but not in this case. The last pair of sneakers I bought were the adidas Terrex Swift R2 GTX, and even though I bought a 10 1/2, they were still a little narrow for my feet. The Keen Austin feel wide enough, but firm. I read in some of the reviews that the shoes take a little long to break them in. After walking a few hours with them I would agree with that. They are comfortable, but they are not soft (yet). Today I’m hitting the parks in Orlando, so I’ll be able to provide a more accurate information about them later. The temperature today was 46° F and they felt comfortably warm. So far so good.Update: The same day I got my shoes, after wearing them for a few hours, I decided to return them and get them in 1/2 size bigger. My toes were touching and rubbing against the front, and the width of the left shoe was too narrow.I’ve been wearing the 10 1/2 now for 2 days and they fit perfectly. I’m still in the process of breaking them in. But as far as comfort I still give them 5 stars.

Good solid shoe, needs break in, insole has uncomfortable indentation
This is a pretty good shoe, close to 5 stars. Here is why I only give 4:The toe box and overall width is a bit wide and takes some getting used to. The insert has some strange indentations or outline in the shape of a foot and toes. Not sure why they have done that, since it has no purpose. But I can feel these indentations and they also take some time getting used to. It feels like your sock has a crease but its the indentation outline of the toe that is embossed into the insole. The materials are quite hard at first but after applying some leather grease and a few days of wearing the materials are broken in and have softened. The looks will not win any fashion contest, but the overall quality is very high and the shoe feels extremely sturdy.Update: After a few months I can say this shoe is extremely sturdy and becomes quite comfortable once broken in. I think this shoe will last a long time.

Excellent, Hard Wearing Shoes
This is my second pair of these workhorse shoes. The last pair lasted more than seven years of almost daily wear. I went though three sets of laces and am only getting new ones because the wear on the soles is finally reaching end of life. Excellent quality and a true to size fit for my 15D feet. The new ones look great and fit perfectly.

Best walking shoes ever!
The most comfortable walking shoes ever! Nice wide toe box and firm sole. My plantar fascists is so much better with 1 week of wearing! I usually were women's 9 and I ordered 7.5 in men's! Love them!
