Me Green Beans
I got Extra Fancy green beans but there are some Peaberry sized as well. They roast fairly evenly and lovely aroma, with great Kona tasteโฆ. and not the least bit acidic. My third batch with this company.

Real Kona
These are some excellent beans. They are of uniform size and color and I didn't find any noticeably deformed. These folks seem to take pride in providing quality to their customers. I have been a big fan of Kona coffee for a very long time, but this is the first time I have ever experienced it freshly roasted. I tried several different roast types with these beans and found that for my taste stopping the roast right after first crack resulted in a very smooth and flavorful cup. Getting into second cracked resulted in a much stronger and more burnt tasting brew, less than favorable for me. On my first roast I stopped too early and ended up with a slightly 'raw' taste with a higher acidic character than I like. My roaster is a hot air type that runs really hot and while it produces a good roast, the heat is not very adjustable which makes it problematic trying to develop a roast between cracks. For these beans, and my taste, this isn't a bad thing. Back 20 years ago or so when roasted and ground Kona could be bought at a number of stores in the lower 48, I used to buy it occasionally. While it was good, it was nowhere near as good as when freshly roasted and ground.

A great price!
This was a great price on these beans. I discovered after trying a first batch in a skillet that they are extremely delicate beans and I ended up scorching the first batch. The next was in the Freshroast sr500 and they turned out perfect. I was able to roast the entire batch on low because I didn't want to scorch them again. The end product was a very mellow and just slightly sweet at a light roast. They still had a bit of strange brindle to them even after the sr500 batch. But this is just how some different beans are. For the price, I would definitely get another bag of this. For the others buying this though, be careful with it. Treat these beans with care and don't roast with shoddy cheap methods and you will get a great product out of them.

Great Kona Coffee Beans at a Fantastic Price
Kona Coffee is Hawaii's best known coffee, and asked for around the world. The island of Kona provides almost half of the coffee grown in Hawaii. Kona Coffee is sought after for its delicate, aromatic flavor and true Coffee aficionados consider 100% Kona Coffee is the only way to go! Do not get fooled by commercial 'blends.'My beans arrived in a USPS box and so very nicely packed. I would suggest ordering two pounds like I did to make it worth while.I home roasted these beans to City and Full City Plus and got fantastic results!

Old beans
Kona beans were old without the normal smell of fresh beans. Post light-medium roasting, unable to grind the beans in our Breville coffee bean grinder. Beans too hard which has never happened with any other bean. We have been home roasting for over 7 years and know the ins-n-outs of roasting, grinding and brewing coffee. Unfortunately these beans were a complete waste of money.
