Unparalleled sound quality & value for well under $200…
I purchased this center channel speaker to replace my trusty old Paradigm Studio Reference speaker which I’ve been using in my 5.1 setup for over 20 years. I recently purchased a pair of Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-6000F floor-standing speakers as my front speakers, while moving my pair of ELAC Debut bookshelf speakers to my rear surround positions. The Paradigm was working fine, but the sound signature just wasn’t matching up well with the newer, brighter RP-6000’s. I was hoping that matching three Reference Premier speakers across the front would give me a more consistent performance.Out of the box, Klipsch’s penchant for outstanding build quality was obvious. This is a smaller but heavier speaker - I needed something that would fit my existing equipment console. This speaker is built like built like a tank, and features Klipsch’s great looking dual copper 5.25” woofers and a 1” Titanium tweeter. There are two wire-connecting terminals in the rear, along with a base port. This makes positioning important if you are considering a center channel speaker. If you put this speaker in a closed cabinet as opposed to an open cabinet, be sure to give the rear of the speaker clearance for the base port.In terms of sound quality, this speaker more than lived up to its reputation and reviews. Initially, I played a variety of live musical performances in Blu-ray using DTS Master Audio decoding. The first thing I noticed was that the sound stage is substantially wider with this speaker. It really opened things up. The voices are “up front,” clear and brighter than my old Paradigm. In my opinion, few companies deliver attention to detail with regard to live performances more than Klipsch, and the sound quality was outstanding across the board. Next, I tested some Super Audio CD’s (SACD’s) to see how they would fare. I chose the Japanese SACD mixes of The Eagle’s “Hotel California,” Donald Fagan’s “The Nightfly” and an SACD version of Steely Dan’s “Gaucho.” Everything, from the instruments to the voices benefited not from an expanded sound stage. And this speakers sonic signature matched up beautifully with my floor-standing speakers.Mark Knopfler’s guitar work on Gaucho’s “Time Out of Mind” was amazing, with more detail and depth. And Patti Austin’s backup vocals on “Babylon Sisters” stood out front and center in a way I’ve not experienced before. In short, every SACD I auditioned benefited from this speaker. In terms of the home theater experience, I played Sam Mendes’ war epic “1917” and Steven Spielberg’s “Saving Private Ryan” and the anniversary version of “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” on Blu-ray 4K UHD. I noticed a clearer, cleaner and brighter dialogue. I had to adjust my center channel in the past, increasing the Db to boost dialogue, but not with the RP-250C. Again, it exceeded my expectations. Even the firefights in 1917 and Saving Private Ryan were more detailed and expansive, and also provided a meatier bass experience. If you are considering buying a center channel speaker, I would strongly encourage to consider this speaker based on build, appearance, spectacular sound quality and value for the money. You could end up spending a lot more money and get a lesser speaker in return. For well less than $200, you can have the sonic experience you’ve been looking for.

Best speakers you'll ever hear or own
I'm not even sure how to start this review with just words. But if you don't want to read the rest of my review, here it is summed up - these are the BEST speakers you will ever own, hands down - so if you're not sure if it's worth the cost, don't you worry. Get them, set them up, and you'll see what I mean. It's not something I can describe in words. You have to hear them yourself in order to truly believe. And to help you justify the cost, the Klipsch Reference Premiere line will most likely last you the rest of your life.I'm a HUGE audiophile. I critique even the highest end systems and can pick out flaws or things I don't like. Not crisp enough, too much bass, not enough treble, too much distortion at high levels, even when I've tweaked all the receiver/amp settings, etc. I can pick it all out. So when I bought my new house, it was time to step it up with the surround sound system. I did probably 15-20 hours of total research over the course of a month, reading hundreds of reviews on 10-20 different high end speaker systems. I compared multiple different Klipsch lines (Icon, Synergy, Reference, Reference Premiere), HK, Polk, Bose, etc. I went in biased because I’ve always wanted a Klipsch system, but I still gave all the others a true chance to earn my purchase. I looked into break downs on sound, performance, pros, cons, quality, build, longevity, size, style, look, etc. I had several different systems in my cart on multiple different sites (Amazon, NewEgg, Klipsch’s official site, Bose’s site) so I could compare price, see about sales or better prices, and make sure I configured the perfect system for me. This was going to be a very large purchase for me and based on how unbelievably important music and audio is to me, I was willing to spend money on the right system. So after all the research, I decided to open up my wallet and get a system from one of the world's leading speaker companies, Klipsch. I chose the Reference Premiere series, because unless you want to spend 30+k on a Klipsch Palladium system, your next best bet is spending 5k on a Reference Premier system. Here is exactly what I bought (all are obviously Klipsch Reference Premiere):(2) RP-280F Ebony Floorstanding Speakers(1) RP-450C Ebony Center Speaker(2) RP-250S Surround Speaker(1) R-115SW SubwooferI hooked these all up to a Marantz SR7009 using Monster Cable speaker wire and a Monster Cable subwoofer cable. Keep in mind, you can't just get amazing speakers and expect them to sound amazing and perform at their high end levels if you're powering them with subpar receivers through subpar wires. You have to make sure you're feeding your speakers the highest quality power and quality that you can so they can do their job to the fullest extent. I'd highly recommend some of the higher end Marantz, Denon, or Onkyo receivers for this Reference Premiere set. If you are going to spend 4-5k on a speakers, and then skimp on the receiver, that won't make sense or do these justice at all. Plus with really cheap receivers, you risk damaging the speakers because they aren’t being provided the correct power, so they are essentially overworking themselves with less power and extra distortion. It took me about a half an hour to hook this up correctly the way I wanted. I used all new wire, used a wire stripper to successfully and correctly strip the wires for optimal performance, installed the surround sound speakers, floor standing speakers, center speaker and hooked up the sub.I then plugged my iPod in through the USB port on my Marantz and that's when the fun started. Now I will be honest, I was a tiny bit disappointed during the first song or two that I played. It sounded good, but not as good as I expected for a system this cost that had this many amazing reviews all over the internet. But I had heard something about a "speaker break-in period". I'm still to this day not sure if it's a scientifically proven “thing”, but it seemed to be evident here. After about two songs playing at a moderate-high level (which I read is the best way to break them in), the speakers honestly just seemed to truly come alive. I was hearing music in a way that I had never heard it before in my entire life. I'm not kidding even in the slightest about this. I have a very high end system in my car, I have friends that have nice surround sound systems, I've been to some amazing concert venues in my life, but I truly, in 30 years of my life, had never heard my music quite like I did through this system. Since then, I've been using it sparingly due to time. But I did watch the movie The Town through this system as well on Blu-Ray. I swear to you that at times, it felt like I was on the streets with them because it was so clear and so precise. I’ve also never heard a movie quite like I have when using these speakers. I've never heard anything like it in my life.So to conclude this review, I honestly couldn't recommend these speakers more. I’m just a HUGE music and audio fan and a system this impressive is very important to me which is why I was able to justify the cost. If you're thinking about buying one of their other lines of speakers (Icon, Synergy, etc), I would recommend you just spend the extra money on Reference Premier. I’m not saying the other lines are inferior, I’m not saying they aren’t great. But these sound AMAZING, look incredible, and are easily the best speakers you'll ever own.

Sounds great!
Klipsch delivers as always. Purchased that central speaker in addition to a pair of rp400s as the 2 shelf speakers were definitely an upgrade from my old tiny Yamaha that came with the AV receiver. I was afraid at first the 400 would only perform at high volume but was pleasantly surprised they covers all range perfectly. So I decided to replace also the center speaker. Best decision ever. Being constrain by the space of the built in space I went with that one a bit afraid it would deliver less than the 400 but relied on the good size of the 2 cones. It ended up being the perfect addition. We used to listen to movies quite loud before just so we umderstamd the dialogues. Not need anymore. This speaker really do the job and is impressive all the way from low to high volume. Delivering all the details you need to really enjoy the show. They are hidden in the built in tv furniture but they really look good with no need to hide them. Unless you have children and are afraid they damage the speakers, I really like removing the protection and exposing the copper cones. (The magnetic system is making it super easy)Very often our friends makes comments about how good is our sound system. We have been using it from movie evenings to karaoke parties but also zoom meetings and daily music listening.Very sharp and detailed from quiet to loud.Next step, I will replace and upgrade the subwoofer.
