It’s condensed so adding a little cream and a can of chopped minced clams makes forsome great dinner soup

Lots of clams and potatos. Because of reading bad reviews of the ready-to-eat version, i decided to check out the condensed. Probably would be super good if you add cream but to avoid all the saturated fat, i add several large dollops of yogurt instead, after heating the soup. Makes it creamy.

Much better than anything in the store. Clam pieces are pretty small. I tried everything from whole milk to heavy cream. It's much better with heavy cream added.

Tastes good and is better for you than the other junk canned soup. Compare the ingredients to others that are more expensive and you will see this is better for you.

We love clam chowder so when I saw this we got excited. It seemed like it was an authentic eastern made chowder now like ours in California. The product came fast, 6 well packed cans. We decided to try it last night and I was sadly disappointed. Lots of potatoes and mashed potatoes, some chopped up clams, some larger chunks and no clam taste at all. You have to add milk or cream to start with plus salt and pepper to taste. Well, I had to add more salt and milk than I normally would in this type of canned food.I must say it had no flavor. Sometimes soups have too much clam juice and it over powers soup but this sure could have used any kind of flavor at all. Often there is too much sage or too much salt or too much anything else and this was sadly lacking everything we expected in soup. Even Progresso Clam Chowder is better and I don't like Progresso but my husband does. He kept asking "What are we eating now?"!! I even bought crab flavored croutons that were advertised next to the soup and they're horrible.We'll stick to our California clam chowders in any restaurant here over anything from back east. Not worth the money and wasted calories.

Beyond disappointed in this soup. I purchased six cans of this as a bulk package and couldn't wait to receive it as I had been craving this stuff! I used to love this soup but they've changed the recipe.There was no way to tell that this was indeed clam chowder. So many potatoes it appears that they've chopped up the clams into tiny pieces that taste more like tiny pieces of rubber bands than pieces of clam. The broth was way too glutinous and just had absolutely no flavor what so ever. I added some thyme to it and even some tabasco sauce to try and give it some life but that was also a big fail.Don't waste your money on this because it's not cheap! Make your own or try and find another brand that actually resembles something that you might find in a restaurant on the east coast.
