Dekalog 1-10 - Kieslowski - New Remastered Edition [4 DVD] Multilingual

This is a magnificent series of roughly hour long films. I’m fairly sure that anyone who finds their way here knows what Dekalog is and the Arrow collection is immaculately transferred to bluray. But, and this is quite a large but, the limited edition Dekalog and other tv works Arrow released first is a large amount better. If you just want to see Dekalog this edition is excellent but the extra material in the limited edition make it well worth tracking down. As well as the other tv works you get a number of documentaries which provides a much fuller package. As always the main thing is just seeing Dekalog, it’s a wonder of European culture. But this isn’t the perfect package.

Superb collection. I have never forgotten the first time I saw these back in the early 90's when they were first shown on Channel 4. I later bought them on video, for a tidy sum of £39.99 on Atrificial Eye. I lost track of these over the years after VHS went west.I thought I'd treat myself to them on Blu Ray, (which I think is the perfect format for film) and being released by Arrow I knew they're be transferred well. I wasn't disappointed the transfer is superb, you have to remmeber these were made for Polish TV in the late 80's and they'll never look any better than this. They're presented over three discs in simple camshell cover with no booklet.Anyone who has seen these films will know how good they are. Never has the gamut of human emotions been depicted with such sensitivity and honesty. The cinematography and acting is unequalled and after watching them you'll be dreaming about them for months after. A masterpiece!!

I am not writing to comment on Kieslowski's work which is widely eulogised. I think justly.However, the packaging for the Dekalog DVD is the worst I have encountered for any DVD in my possession. It is extraordinarily to get the DVDs out of the packaging and I think on the second or third time that I try to do this, the packaging will have disintegrated. Another irritating feature is that ink in the packaging smudges when it is touched. Are we going back to 1980s Polish quality standards for manufacturing? Does great art deserve this?Such a great piece of work as Dekalog should not be let down by third rate packaging. Why?

Krzysztof Keislowski’s “Dekalog,” taken as a whole, is one of the most astonishing films 🎥 I’ve ever seen…granted, I’m a fan of Keislowski…However, I think if given the chance that it certainly deserves, those who don’t mind subtitles Won’t be disappointed…In my humble opinion, if someone can binge watch an Entire series (ANY series), on Netflix, they can damn well chop an already separated into (10) 1-hour episodes into even more palatable, bite-size chunks…Believe me, it’s Well-worth your time….. —todd gold

L’Edition ARROW du superbe Dekalog de Kieslowski est un excellent transfère.Aussi impeccable que celui de Criterion, et beaucoup moins cher.Coté son, je n’ai pas d’avis, je ne comprends pas le polonais. Bruits, musiques sont impeccables. Sous-titres en Anglais, discrets et bien lisibles.N’hésitez pas à acheter cette version de ce film magnifique.

Beautifully recorded. Outstanding collection.I have been wanting to collect these for a long time and am happy I did. This is beautiful filmmaking. I will miss Krysztoff's storytelling. Receiving this collection from Poland made it all the more touching.
