Test each one before application. Many don't properly switch (hot remains open in both positions). The ones that do work are great, but I routinely use these and have gotten burned enough times to switch to another brand.

I bought some Turkish/Moroccan lamps when I was in the Middle East this past summer. They were wired for European outlets. I bought these along with the piece needed to screw in the bulbs (European bulbs are different sizes) and was able to rewire the lamp to work in the US. It was super easy, these cords are the perfect length for a table lamp, have the on/off switch similar to the one that came with the lamp, have sturdy polarized plugs (others I looked at were super cheap plugs - I did not want to use those in my house!), and made the whole process a breeze. My husband is currently stationed over in the Middle East and said he's going to be bringing more home when his deployment is over. I'll definitely buy more of these cords to replace the wiring on the other lamps he buys.

The quality of these cables appears to be adequate. The switches operate smoothly with discernable tactile feedback for position. The protrusion located on the ON side of the switch, for the blind, should be larger. The switch is located in the dead center of the 6 foot cord, which is a terribly inconvenient location. This leads to the switch laying on or dangling just above the floor, even when the appliance it is installed on is placed on a high counter. The Amazon description states this cord is rated for 60W MAX, the 18 gage cord is rated for 125V and 4.2A. The switch is marked 125V and 3A, assuming a power factor of 0.55, the actual rating of this cord and switch comes out to approximately 200W. I would feel comfortable using this product with a 150W lightbulb.

Only needed one to repair a lamp, but unable to find what we were looking for at all the big box stores. This one came in a pack of three, and really no use for rest. I like that the switch is a simple push button instead of the slide. The only complaint I have is the location of the switch. Really feel it would be a lot more effective to have it fairly close to where it connects to the lamp instead of further down the cord.

I bought this set of three cords via Amazon because my favorite floor lamp stopped working. Further exploration led to Avery frayed cord where it meets the lamp. I still don’t know what happened but I suspect one of the kids pulled on it too hard. Since I didn’t want to replace the lamp, I went looking for a DIY kit and found these. The kit was very easy to install and electrical is really not usually my thing. I stripped down the wires per the instructions, attached to the lamp wires and viola! the lamp is good as new. Nothing beats turning the switch and having it light up. Now I have two spares for future repairs.

I have very little electrical experience but was able to rewire two lamps and an air purifier - all three worked on the first try!

Just what I needed and they work great.

I like that the wire ends are tipped. It makes for an easier connection to the bulb base. The price is very good and I like the on/off switch.
