Keeps it cool
My Galaxy S8 has been randomly switching off, requiring time in a cool place and momentary connection to a charger to reinitialize and power on. I bought this because I wanted a way to mount my phone to my air vent and keep it cool without requiring a case or other add on and this fits the bill. It's very easy to use, even plugging in an aux cable does not impede function. I haven't tried plugging it in with the aux cable attached, but that might actually still work. Since I don't use a case the phone is a little loose in the holder, but it's not a problem. Would recommend to anyone trying to keep their phone cool while using GPS and another app or two on the go.

Acceptable sturdiness, limited range for angle of the phone
The whole device is 100% plastic and feels somewhat flimsy. It does an acceptable job holding on to the air vents and holds the phone in place. If the phone has a case with battery (one of the two phones in our household has a battery-case), the extra thickness makes it a bit tougher to hold the phone in place safely. However, my biggest concern is the range to adjust the viewing angle of the phone: as the air vents point down due to the weight of this holder and the phone, you have to compensate by adjusting the viewing angle at which this mount holds the phone. However, the range for adjusting this angle is very limited, so the screen on both phones I tried end up pointing somewhat down. You can still see the screen, but it would be better if it were possible to adjust the angle a bit more. One of the reasons I purchased this was to get rid of the metal piece in the case on my phone, which I was using with a magnetic holder for the car. The reason I wanted to do this was to be able to use wireless charging with phone... I could not do the wireless charging at home using the case with the metal piece... the metal piece gets in the way of Qi charging.I must say that the original magnetic holder I was using keeps my phone in place much better and allowed me to adjust the viewing angle much better.Overall, I think this "gravity" holder is an acceptable/average mount.

Be Careful Installing
I like this, but you need to be careful when installing so you don't break your vent fins/wings. It grips really good to vents. Also when using it be sure to have it furthest to the left of the vent so when you put your phone in it that it has enough room to expand without hitting anything (doesn't hit the center and rub off the coating of center between vents). You also need to be sure that if you have a button "Pop" on back of your phone that you have that above or below the center of the phone holder, your phone will be too fat to fit directly in the center of the phone holder but will still hold your phone fine.

Not Quite As Advertised
It's a cool idea, but. There's no way to secure the phone in landscape mode. You can semi tilt it to the side, but that's it. Also if you have a case on your phone that has any thickness at all, you're going to have to fiddle with the grip heads to make sure they're snug around the case--if you don't, the phone will pop out when you hit a bump. Lastly, it doesn't work with pop sockets unless you put the socket at the very bottom, or at the very top of tall phones. A iPhone 6 isn't tall enough. So, yeah. Great idea, but ....

It will work better than nothing, but not worth the headache
So - if you don't have air vents with strong staying power, the weight of the holder and phone causes the vents to go down and changes the angle of your phone. It's not very sturdy. YOU CAN NOT PUT THE PHONE IN LANDSCAPE MODE. I would look elsewhere for a better mount.

Low quality and flimsy
This worked great for the first week or so. But after that, the clamp became warped and it won't stay on the vent anymore. The nubs that hold your phone aren't quite long enough, so you have to be super precise when putting your phone into the holder. On the rare occasion that I can get it to stick into the vent, it falls while driving. I feel like this is a great idea, but poor execution. Sad that I paid money for it.

This is the one!
I've tried a dozen phone holders over the years and they all annoy me - until this one. Phone slips in easily and stays put. Best part - when the phone is not in the holder, the holder has a nice, slim profile, not blocking much of the vent. You can hardly tell it is there. Will get these for all my cars.

Getting what you paid for
My iPhone X has been overheating constantly so I purchased this vent holder as the small backing on it would mean cool air constantly blowing onto the phone. The holder works, but it holds the phone below the halfway point, meaning the phone is top heavy and always looks like it is going to fall out since the rubber holders do not do much the secure the phone. Spoiler: It has fallen out a couple times, but not consistently. I feel like the expandable arms are always about to break if there is slightly too much pressure applied. Overall, would not purchase again, but it's cheap and gets the job done for now.
