We’re Clipper Teas and we’re a different kind of tea company. It all started in Mike and Lorraine Brehme’s Dorset kitchen with two chests of finest quality Assam tea. The UK is a nation of tea drinkers, but Mike and Lorraine, who were master tasters, believed that people were being short changed, drinking cup after cup of poor quality tea. They wanted to share their love of great teas with everybody, but with the promise that every ingredient had been ethically sourced and naturally produced. Clipper has been an ethical business from the start. "It was always about how you want to make a living," explained Mike. "I was in tea already, and I realized there was child labor involved and I thought, "That’s no way to make a living." Because of Mike and Lorraine’s guiding principles, Clipper became involved with the Fair trade Foundation in its earliest stages and policy development. We launched our very first Fair trade tea in 1994 and in 2013, we are still the UK’s No 1 Fair trade Tea Company. Our other guiding principle is of course, taste. We are in no doubt that our Fair trade Everyday Tea is the best-tasting conventional tea you can buy – not just the best Fair trade tea. Over the years we have introduced organic tea, coffee, green and white tea and some beautiful fruit and herbal infusions making sure everything we do is in line with the principles laid down by Mike Brehme in 1984

A cup of energy!
1st time trying Clipper teas. Ordered two varieties, this is the 1st I tried. Opening the yellow box, I found bright colorful/yellow individually wrapped tea bags - nice touch, compared to other packaging. Opening the bag, the aroma was that of a lemony/citrusy smell, it was pleasing. Brewing the tea, the taste was sweet, lemony and I detected the licorice. I liked the product a lot. Most of the ingredients were organic, which is an added plus. Only issue is the inclusion of licorice (may impact blood pressure in some people) and flavorings - I just dont think the flavorings were really needed, considering the ingredients! Ingredients - Organic (mate, lemongrass, lemon verbena, licorice, lemon peel) with natural lemon flavor and other natural flavors.

Best tea!
I loooove to make sun tea with this tea in the summer. I also bring it with me on trips, as it's got that right amount of kick while also being calming in a way.

but I liked the matte blend with lemongrass
Just found this at our somewhat-upscale local grocery (for $5.89). I wanted to try something with matte in it, for a little "jump start" in the morning. I tend to be caffeine-cautious, but I liked the matte blend with lemongrass, lemon verbena, licorice root, and lemon peel in it. Was disappointed that the box did not tell me how much caffeine I was getting, but the taste is fabulous!! (And no jumpiness after the first cup.) I expect it to be one of my favorites from now on, and I am a devoted tea drinker.
