Istanbul City Plan, An Illustrated City Map Map – September 1, 2014

I loved this map. Very, very useful before, during and even after we have returned from our 9-day Istanbul vacation. I would recommend this map to anyone traveling to Istanbul. All of the information given / printed on both sides beyond just the maps were / are very helpful and useful. I had it in my bag every day and referred to it for our pre-departure tour plan and during our daily planning.The way it was printed, the paper used, made it easy to handle and just very convenient and lasting.Highly recommended.

I purchased this map for a May trip to Istanbul. I expected it to show secondary street names so we could easily move around the city. In that I was disappointed. While the map offers a good high-level overview, the supporting details are severely lacking. For instance, we tried to use it for an excursion to the Chora Church (fantastic Byzantine mosaics) and the Theodosian Wall. We planned to take the tram and walk to the site. Although I found the church via its icon, unfortunately not a single nearby street was named. The sectional map within my travel guide was more detailed. Ironically, we ended up using a free map from our hotel. I wouldn't recommend this item.

Has adequate detail for a tourist but it is large and unwieldy if you are out on the crowded streets of Istanbul.

This is an excellent map to take with us to Istanbul. The size is perfect, it is full of color illustrations for the most important sites, and it is laminated.

More of a cartoon than a map. Only useful to get the general layout of the city.
