Don't miss it
I love this excellent movie which is based on the real struggle between the coal miners in a particular town and the Margaret Thatcher Government. A gay and lesbian organization voluntarily raised money to help fund their strike and at the same time the union miners eventually came to realize that gays were not a "foreign" entity. Eventually they all —including miners from other towns—marched together in a Gay Pride parade—hence the name of the movie. The fate of several of the gay activists is described in the epilogue.

Alive in the mid-'80s? You don't need to be gay to love this soundtrack. A bargain with 42 tunes that will get you moving.
For the bargain hunter in me, the price was a tad steep. But when it come to bang for the buck, whew! Forty-two tunes from a time in my life when music seemed to power the fun that was to be had. I thought of mixing this down to just the tunes that especially move me. But they have already done the job for me. Some of the songs are a bit obscure, and a couple or three of them are meaningful mostly in context of the film. So, see the film...also a great experience. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be angry and inspired.

80's Memories
Having lived through the amazing (yes, amazing) music of the 80's, I loved the film and music of Pride and was so happy to find the CD. I do think that one has to have enjoyed the musical sounds of the 1980's and all the incredible dance music we had the fun to listen and dance to. It brought back good memories, loosened the limbs, as old dance moves practised again in the privacy of the house. To quote Dominic West's character, Jonathan from the film 'Pride'...'God, I miss disco'.

Proud and Loud
Cracking soundtrack from a cracking film. Nostalgia and good memories from that era - although politically not so good with the start of that self-interest, individualistic, money-grabbing-Mrs Thatcher-mentality that has permeated our Great British society and poisoned the political landscape and minds of many. Give me some good old-fashioned compassion and community spirit any day. At least the music soothes the sorrowful spirit.

pride and solidarity forever
there are some toppas on this album such as joy division's love will tear us apart, pete sega's solidarity forever, king's love and pride, relax by fgth, temptation by heaven seventeen, and walls come tumbling down by the style council. why by bronski beat is another brilliant track and the communards for a friend is also included, a bit of a tear jerker.I haven't actually seen the film yet, I always prefer to wait for the dvd to be released. if the soundtrack/music inspired is anything to go by, then it's likely the film will excellent too.

Love the music selection which for an 80's lover like me is oustanding. The only negativity is the very poor quality of the recording, i have no idea why as the originals sound great.Check out West End Girls as an example, the low and middle tones do not exist.A 1 star to the musical engineer
