The "lies" the author addresses are topics that are personally hurtful to a lot of Christians. These misconceptions suck the life and joy out of people trying to live the Christian life. My hope is that people will read this book, grow in their thinking, and have the love and joy in life that God intends for them.Here are 3 great qualities about this book:1. This is a well-organized book. The information and topics in the book are easy to find and are arranged logically. Also, the writing on each topic is kept short (just a few pages), so it makes each topic digestible in one sitting. The book could easily be used for a personal devotional book or for a group Bible study.2. This is a well-written book. The author's arguments and examples are easy to understand and follow. Bits of humor and personality are sprinkled throughout.3. You will learn things from this book, and you will clear up some of your misconceptions with this book. This could benefit you greatly, because some of the issues discussed are real problems for a lot of Christians. Even if you do not agree with every sentence in the book (have you ever read a book where you agreed with every single utterance?), you will grow because either (1) you will become convinced that the author is correct and will clear up a misconception that you had or (2) you will refine your understanding of your belief by thinking through why you disagree with what the author is putting forth. Either way, you grow.

Andrew takes many scriptures that have been misapplied and shows by various details among them phrases, scriptures and so on used by many to put Christians under law even though these ones talked about grace. The words used and the agenda of trying to insure that Christians will be "good" and not run God's reputation, is put on display here. Andrew shows the pattern of many of these teachers and preachers which do not seem to have studied out these passages and myths and thus have overlooked significant nuances and details.Often times much of theology is trying to make one's viewpoint as correct from what verses in the Bible say. Yet understanding comes from following where the scriptures lead. Andrew has shown that we all need to do this and not let anyone including ourselves, follow men, but to let the Holy Spirit lead in our study. If some teaching comes along or is know and it brings the wrong feelings and seems off, then as Andrew has done, we all need to reassess what we believe and not be afraid of where the Bible leads us.Too many are afraid today of following and exploring the wonderful grace of God and seeing how Jesus Christ has changed things in the new covenant. Why, I do not know. Yet I find this fear everywhere. So this book is an adventure in seeking or starting to seek what God says and refuse to take anything that any human teaches. We ar to be Bereans and study to show ourselves approved unto God NOT UNTO MEN. Andrew gives some good explanation of these passages and thus starts the way to follow where the scriptures lead. All scripture leads to the grace of Jesus Christ. We glorify hi when we follow what the Bible says.This book is a big help for anyone who doubts and has had difficulty to see the wonderful and awesomeness fo God in Jesus Christ. After reading this book, it becomes very easy to praise God and seek to just silently consider all that Jesus Christ has done for us.

Andrew Farmer's book, Twisted Scripture is a must read for every believer. It clears up so much that we have blindly believed. The answer is that we are free in Christ. His work is done! Hallelujah!

Highly recommend this book to give a jump start into reading scripture in context and in truth. Even seasoned saints can benefit from the nuggets of truth Andrew digs out of scripture (not that that ability is exclusive to him - anyone indwelt by the spirit of Christ has that resource)Andrew is all about believers knowing Christ and being set free. I believe this book will help open the eyes for many people that are in bondage to man made doctrines and mixtures of law and grace.I saw some reviews where people said they were unsettled by this book. I will admit when I first heard the message of grace nearly 3 decades ago from a different minister I was unsettled also. But I investigated it to prove it wrong but got set free by the truth. I discovered my problem was the pride of religion and self righteousness, which are error. Anyone that wants to investigate, should consider Andrew's teaching on each one of the subjects in this book each Sunday. He fleshed each one of these out in more detail and clarity than the book does. You can find him and church without religion on Facebook and YouTube, as well on his ministry app.

The information in this book is true and written in a very understandable way. Every Christian that lobe to to Bible study should have this book. Get your copy asap!The book arrived damaged, so I sent it back for a refund and ordered another one.

FOR DECADES I kept asking GOD, "why are we always hearing erroneous teachings about "SELF" while in church, and NOT about "YOU" LORD? The gospel message should be about your true character of radical love, and the power of what happened for us at the cross. Show me what happened at the cross Lord?" Wow... did He ever answer my prayers! The TRUE gospel is about our true identities when we accept Christ. Its about how the Lord longs to bring us into His family with His name and His identity !! The fact that He wants and has always wanted deep intimacy between Himself and humanity and that when we accept Christ, He gives us new identities in HIM. This book reveals many of the erroneous teachings that we have heard for much too long in the Christian churches which malign Christ's true character and our new identities as believers. The enemy has had a hayday undermining the cross & resurrection, our identities & our God given authority via well meaning but naive pastors....but NO MORE! This wonderful read reveals the TRUTHS of MANY misrepresented scriptures which up until now have been falsely taught in most Christian churches around the world. (My favorite is 1 John 1:9). Andrew Farley... you are an answer to prayer. PLEASE keep writing more books like this one and keep pointing us to the cross and resurrection & how radical HIS love really is for us. Makes me WANT TO run TO Him...and now away FROM Him ! Thankyou for this book. Many yrs of answered prayers are in these pages. I've already given this book as a gift and have ordered a copy for our public library. They now have it on their shelves. I encourage everyone to do the same with their own public libraries. It's free and easy to do. Will set many people free! Thankyou Lord for your truth and the amazing power of the "TRUE" gospel !! What a breath of fresh air this book is. Andrew keeps Jesus & the New Covenant central as he tackles the 'hot potatoes' in scripture that can leave God's children condemned & confused through a poor handling of scripture. Andrew makes it clear that the Law of Moses is holy, perfect & unattainable, that actually this leads to a holy respect for the Law & the need for grace & the New Covenant, living in this and recognising that for believers Jesus is the end of the Law & we are now under grace! His writing opens your spiritual eyes to see that Jesus is the forever Priest of a new priesthood founded on better promises and NOT a continuation of the Old Covenant Priesthood!

Thank you Andrew. Challenging, thoughtful, and encouraging. A book that should be in every brother and sisters library. Clarity is truly needed in these days of weak discernment . Too many voices that move us away from the joy of Jesus our Lord. "it is finished" .

Free at last - that was my experience after reading this book. Suddenly the Good news of the Gospel came alive once more. The word blessed means happy and we who are born again experience this ‘blessedness’ this ‘happiness’ at the core of our new creation inside us! This is a message for our time as so much false teaching abounds and many believers are held in bondage to false beliefs and useless and unnecessary religious practices. I couldn’t recommend this book enough. Thank you
