Slightly Eaten Pie (Japanese Edition) Kindle Edition

Due to its edgy subject material, I'm not sure whether this book is actually appropriate for children, but definitely good for beginner-plus to intermediate learners of Japanese like me. Almost all kanji have furigana. The resolution of the "whodunit" subplot (i.e., the one responsible for Pie-kun's missing slice) gave me a good laugh. I hope the author writes more books.

とても面白くて分かりやすい話です。そうだけど、この本は大人らしいと思うから、子供と読めばたぶん子供たちが意味わからない。でも、日本人の友達と読んで大笑いしましたｗI got this book thinking it was for children so that I could practice my reading skill. It was good for reading practice, however, it was for children in my opinion. It was really funny though. Read through it with my Japanese friend to ask him some questions about difficult parts (very difficult, not for beginning readers), and he had a good laugh at how ridiculous and dark the story was. Overall nice purchase.

Great book for reading practice, if you're learning Japanese. It's probably what most would consider low intermediate level. The words aren't very difficult for the most part and the grammar is fairly simple. For a kids book it's a bit dark, but I enjoyed reading it more that way (as an adult).

A funny book even for adults! A great way to practice reading Japanese aloud as well! I would recommend this book for anyone studying Japanese or for bedtime reading to kids!

This book got my 5 star rating which means that if there was something I didn't love about the book, the good outweighed the bad so heavily that I forgot anything I didn't like.This book grabs you and hold tight ‘til the end. Could not see where this one was going! Now I need to check out author's first book.Quite possibly one of the best books I've read in a long time. It was hard to put down and now one of my new favorites.
