Great cooking system
Great cooking system. I love that I only use about 8-10 briquets to cook with. Easy cleanup.

Not exactly what I expected but has its place.
This is a great little grill. It goes almost anywhere and is is very versatile with all the components. It's a solid little unit and is built well. However, I believe all the adds are a bit overstated. This unit is not really what I would consider a "BBQ". It will not char steaks and meats or give you you that traditional glazed, crisp coating that we're used to on traditional grills. My opinion is that it would be better described as a oven/cooker/smoker. However, it does do a good job cooking and/or smoking foods. The optional fry pan is great for breakfasts and frying and the bowl is great for heating or stewing on the fly. Add that to the versatility and it's worth 4 stars. However, don't expect this to replace your charcoal BBQ.

Love doing wildlife photography in the African bush but I love to cook too
I spend a lot of time doing wildlife photography in the African bush but I love to cook too. I discovered the Cobb cooker in South Africa when it first came out, maybe 12 years ago, and it wowed me. Just light 6 briquets and 15 minutes later, I was grilling lamb chops and sliced sweet potatoes. Delicious medium-rare chops were ready before we had time to completely set up our camp site. As we ate the chops, the Cobb was grilling a package of chicken pieces and vegetables for a cold lunch for the next day. Take that second meal off, and there is always enough heat left to cook fruit for desert, whether it be pineapple pieces, sliced apples and pears, etc. When that is done, just melt some squares of chocolate on top and you have a heavenly dessert. Save some of the carmelized fruit for brekkie, served on top of meusli and yogurt. Newcomers to African bush life are goggle-eyed at the power and grace of Cobb cooking. All this without the fuss of catching wood alight, waiting half an hour or more for coals and without dodging the smoke of the fire as you cook. Phenomenal! Now I realize that African campers love to light their bonfires, aka braais, but I just want to cook fast after a long day's travel in the bush. Then a quick swish with some soapy water and the Cobb is ready to store back into its bag. No mess to clean up before you break camp in the morning and definitely no leftover food on a grill that attracts leopards, jackals and other critters of the night. PHENOMENAL again! In Vegas, I used to adore my big gas BBQ but I prefer to sit with my guests and not jump up and down to the grill. So I bought a second Cobb that sits without harm on my big granite table under the stars, where I and guests can first grill chicken satay skewers for appies as we talk. Then each person can choose how long to grill corn on the cob for the second course because some like it well cooked while others take their corn off when it is still al dente. Lastly, we can put on a series of homemade pizzas, dining on one while the next one cooks on the table in front of us. Serve with Spier Pinotage if you can get it. THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER than a big grill.I wish the Gates Foundation would give every rural African family a Cobb so they wouldn't need to rob the bush of slow-growing firewood. Hey the Cobb can decrease wood smoke and improve the global warming problem as well!

Nice little grill
I like the grill and it worked well the one time I used it.However, cleaning was a PITA! The biggest issue was the ash cleanup. Most reviews online don't show the cleanup of the grill, just startup and cooking.I think next time, I'll use foil where the charcoal and wood chips go for easy quick cleanup. The only problem will be how the foil will impede the design of the airflow which is supposed to keep the charcoals fed. I'll just have to test and see if it will work.

I Love This Grill!!!
I love this grill! I've used it several times and have no complaints! I've talked about it so much at work, there are several people including my mother considering buying this grill. I disagree with one of the reviewers. I've grilled vegetables, brats and burgers. I'm giving away my to big gas grill and huge barrel smoker charcoal grill. The COBB grill chars and food tastes like it was cooked on a charcoal grill. It's big enough for 2-3 people. After using it on my deck I put the parts in the dishwasher and keep the grill in a bag in a hall closet. It's versatile, portable and easy to use. I'm replacing both grills with the COBB. I wouldn't recommend this grill to large families as it really is compact without all the fuss of a big grill.

I like it!
The grill is fantastic! We wanted a small versatile grill and this fits the bill. Good quality, and as advertised it uses very little fuel for a long burn time.

It's different
Would have given it 5 stars but still learning how to use it. Wish they had a better how to book to go with it. It's very compact and works well so far.
