Gorgeous set, extremely buttery and layers wonderfully!

Yes, these are pricey, and some question the lightfastness. However I had been wanting this set for several years as I’m just a hobby artist and don’t sell my work. I started off by buying a 12 pc set of the pencils just to make sure I liked the formulation and I was enamored. As soon as I used the 12 pc set, I knew I had to order the pastel set I’d been dreaming of.My favorite pencils to use are Prismacolors, they are so soft and creamy, but they break so easily and have some quality control issues with the cores not being centered. I’ve tried caran d’Ache luminance and faber castell polychromos, those were a bit too firm for my liking. These pencils are just the right amount of firm and sturdy, while also being smooth and a little creamy. I’m in love with these and find myself reach for them so often as they are a joy to use. I’ve even bought a lot of the rest of the colors open stock in batches. I am glad I saved to get them but I do wish they were a little more cost effective. I don’t regret my purchase though.

Holbein pencils have superior color saturation and lay down. I think life is too short and if you’re really into adult coloring then bite the bullet and buy these.

I have the full set of these pencils and I love them. The pastels are hard to find, so I got this set to supplement. These are oil-based pencils that cannot be compared to wax-based pencils like PrismaColors, which are also nice if you get a good batch.

after reading all the hipe and jumping through a bunch of hoops to get these shipped the the US I just felt that Prismacolor are just as good if not better. The Price is just ridiculous!

I bought some brand alternatives for pastel colored pencils and I absolutely love these! I had to get them and try them as they are the og and they blend beautifully. They feel like pure quality also!
