Swidan 18v to 20v Adapter DCA1820 Compatible with Dewalt 18V Tools,Convert 20V MAX Compact Lithium Batteries DCB201 DCB203 to 18 Volt NiCad &NiMh DC9096 DE9096 DW9099 Battery

I ordered a new Lithium Ion Drill and Impact but figured I would give this a try to use my new 5amp batteries in my old 18v XRP NiCad Tools. Works great in all of them, Makes me happy I didnt have to retire them as I have quite a few (Circular Saw, Sawzall, and impact)In the circular Saw the battery is pretty close to your material when the deck is zeroed out. but it cleared decking boards and 2 inch boards so it wasn't an issue for me. You may have a slight clearance issue with anything thicker then 4" but I wouldn't use my battery saw for those any anyhow. so much cheaper then the name brand adapter. highly recommend if you want to keep the older NiCad tools around.I may order a couple more So I don't have to swap the adapter to different tools.

This adapter just turned 4 useless 18V DeWalt tools into functioning members of my shop again. And for $15! That's the best money I've spent yet! I've heard the DeWalt brand of this adapter is difficult to remove from the tool. That's NOT the case with this adapter. Even so, I think I'll buy several more just for the convenience of being able to plug the battery right in and go. Great buy!!!

I recently got a Dewalt 20v Li-ion impact driver. It is so much lighter and powerful than my old (and amazingly durable and versatile 18v NiMH set of tools). The old NiMH battery wore out but the tools didn’t! I purchased this adapter to allow me to use the 20v Li-ion battery to power my 18v tools and not need to purchase a replacement 18v NiMH battery.It works like a charm! I can now use all my cordless Dewalt tools again and only own the one battery.I recommend this product.PS. The adapter is very light and lightly built. I believe it simply matches the electric connectors and doesn’t actually convert the voltage. For my use it works great! I wouldn’t expect it to survive ‘heavy use’ (meaning it might not survive a fall from the roof or the impact of a 4x4 falling on it.)

I've purchased the DeWalt 18v/20v adapter. It was very expensive and awful. I couldn't get the DeWalt adapter off of my 18v DeWalt tools with dynamite. You would think DeWalt could make something that actually works on their own tools, but they failed completely!The Swidan 18v to 20v adapter DCA1820 for Dewalt 18V tools is FAR superior to the DeWalt adapter. I can EASILY remove the Swidan adapter from the DeWalt tool and it accepts the 20v battery perfectly. I plan to buy one Swidan adapter for each of my many 18v DeWalt tools.

The only thing that I don't love is that the warning makes it very clear don't leave your batteries in your tool when you're not using it. I understand batteries do better when they're not left plugged in but the warning makes me paranoid that I might forget on the other hand I hate to have to remove the device so I own enough so that I don't have to move them from tool to tool

works ok.to bad you can;t leave the battery on the drill when not using.

Works good, but the title was a bit misleading. I bought this one over a slightly cheaper brand because I thought I was getting two. When only one arrived, I was a bit disappointed. On the bright side I can now scrap all of my old worn out 18 volt batteries and just use any of the new dewalt batteries. My 18 volt tools now except 20v, 20v max , and flexvolt batteries.

With this little gem I have given my older style Dewalt tools new life. It works great with my older post-style battery tools. I am going to buy at more so I can just leave it in place on my older tools.
