Danelectro D-3 Fab Metal Effects Pedal

I have a habit of scanning Amazon for the cheapest pedals I can find and ordering them just to check them out. I saw this on sale a year ago for 14.99 so I ordered it because I wanted something to boost my solos on stage, but I wanted a pedal with very few controls, I have found that if you have too many knobs you can't remember that sweet spot and you will sit there wasting time trying to dial that back in. This pedal has three knobs! Easy to find your favorite setting and remember it in the dark with sweat in your eyes (if you perform live music then know what I'm talking about). I turn the tone all the way off, level all the way up, and gain 1/3 up. When you kick this on through an amp that's already being pushed into overdrive it brings your notes out to the front of the band with nice clarity and definition. I have received a lot of compliments on the sound of this pedal over the past year. People laugh when I show them this FAB pedal was making that sound they we're excited about, and they are suprised that I'm getting great tone from inexpensive gear. When used spairingly as a boost this is a tasteful pedal for solos in blues and rock in my opinion, and if you ever want to melt away the stress of the work week you can crank the gain and leave the blues behind.

Works wonderfully, everything I was expecting. Problem was, I was so excited to try it out.......but it didn't come with the 9V battery, which the page says is included. Hence why I didn't buy a 9V because it was suppose to come with it. Thankfully, after 30 minutes of searching, I found one around the house. This thing sounds amazing!

First off, I mainly use a Boss GT6 Multi-Effex Processor through my Line 6 amp. This and other pedals I own are for back up or just practice when I don't want to wire up my Big Boss. That said, I have to say these are very good pedals for the price. I've played live with this model and FAB D-1 and people have commented on the great sound. When I tell them what I was using and how much I paid for it they look at me like I just committed a musical sin. Nevertheless, FAB has done a great job with their line of pedals and if one went out I'd for sure replace it with another.

Very well built! The sound is Awesome!! The controls are vary activeand can be adjusted for different levels of distortion and tone.This pedal was made for Metal and has a HIGH level of distorsion and sustainat it's max levels, and anyone looking for something different, like a Grung ora mild distorted sound, This pedal is not for you!!! But if you want a balls to the wall,screaming distortion, with awesome sustain, this is the one!Difinitely worth a lot more then what your paying!!

It worked great for the first month I had it, this pedal is amazing and would have gotten 5 stars but now when I try to use this pedal the sound that comes out of my amp is so low I cant even hear it even with the pedals volume turned up all the way and my amp turned up really loud the sound that comes out is super low.

I'm a seasoned guitarist . I have tried many many pedals. This pedal was exactly what I was looking for . It may not be what you are looking for however. It's not versatile and I like that. K It Simple Stupid. I love the guitar tone in The Flight Of Icarus by Iron Maiden and that's what you get , very similar to Randy Rhodes type of Rythym tone but a touch heavier. The pedal will not get muddy , loads of crunch , not too much bass. The sweet spot is very easy to find because the pedal only has 3 dials . Pedals with many options for me end up in me not being satisfied. This pedals gets it done for me . Simple and sounds great. Don't make the mistake of worrying about the price or how cheap it is or any of that nonsense. My favorite guitar is a Squier Bullet Mustang and I have expensive USA Fender and Gibsons.

One more sound effect for bringing the Blues up to a more "recent" sound. I still Love the old standards.......cannot be underestimated......I find a bit O' Metal in the mix can make for a gutsy sound and these are worth the money and can be highly adjusted. I would recommend buying a power strip for pedals to keep the "juice" going without any downtime. 9 volt batteries cost too much NOT to buy one these days!

Well it sounded great while it worked. I used it for about 15 minutes and it just stopped working. Tried new batteries, tried new cables. Dead. Piece of crap.
