ALC Ground Corncob Abrasive Blast Media - 50-Lb. Bag, Model Number 40125

We are restoring a 100+ year old brick home. We chose this media (with use with Campbell Hausfiled Sand Blaster) to remove paint around the old glass in the wooden windows hoping not to mar, pit or break the 100+ glass (the wavy and bubbling hand poured glass). A slow process, often repeated, but the media lived up to its claim, and removed about 80-99% of the layers of old paint including oil based paints. Those tough area that the media couldn't remove, I simply used a stripper. I called the manufacturer and they were very helpful and professional. They even followed up with spot checks on performance.We also used the media on our stained cedar cabin in Michigan. The media is designed for cedar and the results were restoring to an almost original state the cedar and pine, bringing out the integrity and newness to the wood.The residue of corncob was plentiful, however, we just raked the results and shop-vaced into contractor's bags, and left the remainder as mulch.A versatile product that lived up to its promise. Blasted a 30 year old tree stump. Great cutting media, wasn't too aggressive. A bit more forgiving than walnut shell.
