This Book Is Better Than A Gift Card
If you want to feel better about your life, read this book. The best thing about it is, you don't have to start at the beginning. I decided to read the last story First. And, I was glad I did. Each narrative is a separate story, so it doesn't matter which one you choose to read. The book is an excellent selection to give to friends, family members, even strangers. After reading one story, you can't help but look forward to reading the next one. So, I decided to ration the stories that I read to make the book last longer.I have a friend who's life is spent going to see doctors most of the time because of health issues. Guess what she's getting for her upcoming birthday?

Yes, you can be happy, too
Happy Stories is an inspirational self-help book using real-life stories of people who rose above their complacent or troubled lives to take charge and become happy. Bowen writes around the true stories, using them to encourage and to teach, including bullet points of wisdom and advice from the people of the stories. The chapters are simply written and brief, some a little too brief for me, but the focus is on the discovery of a new and empowering attitude, the happy ending, and how you can have a happy ending, too. If you want inspiration with more story details, read a healing memoir or some of Bowen's other books on happiness. This book provides starter-therapy for anyone dealing with a difficult situation or anyone who feels life passing them by.

Oh my- THIS IS GREAT
It is great to read other peoples stories. It helps oneself to know your not alone in your struggles in life.I know- I use my sad story to help other people to turn around their thinking about what what they have experienced inlife. and to use that story to help others.God has put your personal sad story in your life to help others. I have turned my sad storyinto acceptance of it,joy, happiness that it has happened to me to help others-once you have learned to do that then the world as as you see it becomes a wonderful place to live in.--------------and the story goes on and loving it. ITS JUST HOW YOU VIEW THINGS. JOHN P.

Happy is an attitude
I read a story each night before bedtime. It left me with positive thoughts no matter what happened during the day. The best part was the 3 suggestions each writer gave for being happy. The stories were from people who had every reason to be unhappy. It was one of the most uplifting books I’ve read in a long time.

absolutely timeless and uplifting
this book reminds me of the story about John Lennon. He was given the assignment to report on what he wanted to be when he grew up. his reply was he wanted to be happy. the teacher told him that he misunderstood the assignment. he told the teacher that she misunderstood life!! Will Bowen understands life! These stories prove that circumstances do not dictate your well being. you can either be a thermostat or a thermometer. these true stories illustrate that the comfort level of your life are under your control. i recommend using this book to read to yourself and children as bedtime stories. sweet dreams will be sure to come!

Worth the Purchase
For me, the very best parts of this book is the end of each story, where the characters sum up their life living secrets.Definitely great words of wisdom are dispensed from those who have lived through situations that would make many curl up in a ball in defeat.I have booked marked nearly all of those words of wisdom for future re-reading.

Truly inspiring!
Thank you, Mike Bowen, for sharing these examples of truly inspiring people. Although most faced life’s challenges, their choice to embrace happiness is an inspiration to us all. Each time I spent a few moments reading someone’s story, I felt better about this world we live in.

Amazing! I feel more upbeat just reading these stories!
This book reminds me of laughter - it is contagious! There are so many short, easy-to-read stories about happy people and how they got that way. I used to think that happiness was more or less genetic - either you have the happy gene, or you don't. I consider myself a relatively happy person. But one thesis of the book is that happiness is a choice, and I can see how I have learned to make that choice over time! I loved the story about Dr. Denny, a personal friend!

HAPPY STORIES - RECOMMENDED
I've read this author before and enjoyed reading his thoughts. Here, Will Bowen tells us 50 inspirational, real-life stories that are all well presented, engaging and readable.I think most people will agree that when we watch the top news stories each day, they tend to reflect on all that is negative, worrying and bad in the world. We can easily forget that there are also good people and happy stories happening at the same time, but we just don't hear about them. While I think it's unrealistic and naive (even dangerous) to live in a sunshine and rainbows space in your mind all the time, it's good to balance things out once in a while and occasionally, we need to feel in awe of life. As an educator, I am already planning on introducing these types of stories into a learning situation. The key is, they're real stories, not contrived for effect and they're unapologetically positive.
