Cool hat for a hot day, outing, and watching your favorite sport or any other outdoor activity. Eye catching, conversational...

Works great to raise awareness of clean energy
Let me start this review by saying - if you're looking for something to keep you cool in the sun, this isn't necessarily your best solution. The amount of breeze a small fan can provide through a hole in a cap bill is minimal, and very localized. For my purposes as described below, however, it's a perfect 5-star product.I ordered this hat for a friend that is an activist promoting locally generated power (primarily solar & wind) to reduce the reliance and size of large power grids, and to minimize non-renewable power sources such as coal. He wears this hat to the Farmer's Market and gives out flyers and business cards, and the hat is a perfect allegory for his point of view. There are no wires, there is no storage medium (e.g. battery), there is just locally-generated power providing power on-demand for local use.Whether you're buying it as just a gag gift / conversation piece, or using it to make a specific point about clean/renewable/local energy - this is a nicely made hat that looks good, and is reasonably priced.

Works but heavy and hole lets sun in
This works, but in SF where it's usually windy, I can't really feel the cooling effect of the fan much. But it works with only a little bit of sun (but will stop in shade) -- it's a good sun/shade detector! HahaCons: it's quite heavy (especially "forward-heavy"), and the hole that lets the cool air from the fan goes through also lets the sun go through, which defeats the purpose of a hat in the first place in my opinion. A fun gadget though for $10.

... and the fan is very weak and does not cool at all
Bill is too long and heavy to wear and the fan is very weak and does not cool at all.

Sunny days work best.
The media could not be loaded. Had this hat for a few years. It gives a breeze for SUNNY days. You definitely need direct sunlight. The fan slows, or stops and f not in bright sunlight.I would buy more, in additional colors.God bless you.

Works just not powerful
So I bought this because I do a lot of outdoor work and was looking for a way to keep cool and keep bugs off of my face.I saw this product and thought "Hey,this is perfect"because it didn't require batteries ,it keeps the sun out of your eyes and keeps you cool so I ordered and it even came a day early. But after using the product it is not all that great mainly because the fan is not very powerful and can barely generate a breeze, not only that but one of the blades was bent back just enough to hit the plastic guard every time it turned so I had to manually bend it back in place. So over all this product would be much better if the fan was just a little more powerful even if that means making the solar panels larger.

I love Everything Solar
This product is great for me! It is a great attention getter! I recently put solar panels on my house and I want everyone to know that solar is very affordable (in some states zero down and you only pay for the solar electricity it makes at a cheaper rate), very easy, and money saving. This solar hat gets the conversation started so I can give them the good news that now is the time to go solar. My grandchild saw it and wanted one so I have ordered another one. It spins in the sun (immediately) and stops in the shade. The breeze it produces is very slight so don't buy it for real cooling power. Also the bill is on the heavy size and it keeps slipping down in front. My granddaughter is planning to keep it in place by putting her pony tail through the opening above the hook and loop that makes the hat adjustable. It is very well constructed. Sunny Days!

Cool Noverlty
I've bought several of these hats to take to the hot Europe summer. I've had these before and they work great if you can put up with the slightly heavier tip.

Nice for hot day
The fan on the hat does not work well when there is wind stronger then 3-5 MPH. On a sunny day the nice big hole in the middle of the bill where the sun shines in your eyes. I tried to use sunglasses to block the sun out and of course that works. But it blocked the fan from hitting my face.
