Its a good idea for a very basic way to start a kid, learning how to write. It's safe when they stick the pen in their mouths. The cap is a choking hazard so be careful the writing clears but leaves stains on the "paper"Not a bad buy but definitely not a gifting option

My niece is in the stage where all she wants to do is steal your pen and scribble. My sister is a clean freak so this is a scary combo. I bought this and not only does my niece LOOOVE it, everyone can relax knowing if she goes to the couch all it will leave behind is little watermark. Great purchase!
