CMT811.501.11 3-Piece Plywood Groove 1/2-Inch Shank Router Bit Set

I bought this set because I am starting to work a lot with Baltic Birch both for its looks and for the fact that it's slightly higher grade of plywood than the void-filled home center stuff. I just cut the joinery for a bunch of drawers and the 15/64" bit worked absolutely flawlessly. 15/64" translates to 6 millimeters which is exactly half of the thickness of what we call 1/2" Baltic Birch. It's actually 12 mm thick. Besides being the exact thickness that I need, the bits are really sharp and cut beautifully. When I started this project, I only had an old HSS 1/4" plywood bit and the cuts were ragged. These bits cut nice and clean. Of course, they are new, so the jury is still out on how well they will hold their edge. But so far, I'm delighted with the performance. It would be helpful if CMT or Amazon adjusted the description of these bits to indicate their size in millimeters or indicate that they work well in imported or metric-sized plywood.

This Router bit set was just what I needed. I was making some storage bookcase sets with birch plywood and was having trouble getting the dadoes to width with my dado set on the tablesaw. These bits made the grooves at the perfect fit every time, without having to fiddle around with dado chippers & shims, and no tearout. A great time saver.

I am new to woodworking and needed a set of plywood dado bits. I wanted a good set that I won't outgrow so I purchased these after finding them on Amazon. The quality is at least as good as the Freud and other bits I have. They come in a padded foam case for storage/transport. A good investment in my opinion.

The product completely solved the problem of rabbit cuts for undersized plywood. I have used each bit extensively since purchasing. They have remained sharp and accurate regardless of wood used on various projects.

nothing beats having the exact cut size for today's modern plywood dimensions. plywood is no longer made in actual widths so when you need a tight fitting dado or groove, these CMT bits are the best. great in a hand held router and in a router table.

I've only used the 3/4 bit extensively and it chipped soon after initial use. i can't be certain if it's something i did or a defect but take it for what it is.
