I'm an old timer, I don't need those fancy touch controls on the original apple tv.This remote is perfect for me, the old fashioned way with arrows up and down and left to right at a fraction of the cost. I love it.

Unfortunately, the <$10 cost equates to the unit's capabilities. It would not work with my Apple TV, which is a second generation model. The product description should make mention of this shortcoming. Returned it for full refund.

A little quirky and has zero control of volume and an odd third button who’s use remains a mystery but it does get the job done

Works great only prob is back slides out very easily. We have a lot of kids in our house and so it gets over clicked. But that's an issue here. It probably won't affect another family unless they too have a lot of people sharing it!

Bought an Apply Tv and my kids lost the remote absolutely the best thing I could do was purchase this replacement good value and works great and easy to setup

It works just fine! I like the feel of it it doesn’t feel cheap like the apple remote look alike.

Good Remote works great, no Batteries, no instructions, writing this review I didn’t rate the Volume Control now I’m guessing it’s the Bottom Button... Because I couldn’t figure out what that button was for.... (no instructions)

No volume control but works well for Apple TV

This is a review several hours after receiving the Hzgang black small simple remote replacement for the Apple TV remote which works well for the HD version (4th generation) model.The build quality is thin plastic and feels cheaply made. I'll have to see how well it will hold up to regular use. The buttons themselves have a soft feel to them with good travel.There were no instructions with the remote. It worked right out of the box when batteries were inserted. The MENU, PLAY/PAUSE, OK, and directional buttons mimic exactly those gestures/clicks/presses of the corresponding buttons on the Apple TV remote. Volume buttons were not available so another remote will be needed for volume control. There is a small unlabelled button to the right of the remote 2/3 of the way down the side which did not do anything that I could figure out.We have several Apple TVs in the house and it appears to only work within line of sight to the nearest device suggesting that it was using infrared based signalling.Overall, good value for price and functioning well.I will update this review if it fails prematurely or doesn't hold up to everyday use.

We have an old second gen Apple TV that we use when we rent a cottage for rainy days and in the evening after the kids have gone to sleep. This time, we forgot to pack the remote so we ordered this and had it delivered to where we were staying. As soon as you pop in the batteries the remote works perfectly just like the original. No complaints!
