I'll rate this item a four instead of five because more or less no useful information is included in the box. That said the product is very well made and functions perfectly. This three piece coffee-dozer is easily adjustable locking at desired depths via "double-nut" action that functions perfectly. The device features at least six-tenths of an inch working travel - far more than enough for any situation. The stainless steel (?) working surface appears perfect to the naked eye - no machine marks, mars, burrs or machine oil to be found. At 0.94 pounds (~428 grams) the the device is nicely heavy.My calipers are broken so I cannot offer a precise working surface measurement. I can say the device fits into and works perfectly with Breville 53mm OEM filter baskets and La Spaziale 53mm OEM and 53MM IMS aftermarket precision baskets with very little play.

This feels great from the moment you take it out of the box. It is nice and "weighty." The adjustments mechanism is really solid. Minor (ver minor) complaint - the instructions are not good. Had to go on line to figure out how it works (i.e. how to adjust). Once I did, I was able to zero in on the depth that I wanted. I will never go back to the finger mushing method again.

This is a must have item! It really is amazing the impact this has on my espressos. I think it's worth every penny. However, seeing that the 58mm versions are all around $18 price I can't help feeling this is overpriced for what it is. In lieu of other options, this is a great but.

I have been using my machine for 2 yrs, and once i purchased this leveling tool along with a good tamper that provides the 30lb of pressure, i started getting a perfect shot every time i make a latte. Even my daughter asked what are you different because they taste much better. So the product is worth getting along with a good tamper that applies the same pressure on every shot you make.

I've recently decided to try out a Distributor tool to see if it helps me dial in my shots on my Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine, BES870XL. I've been having some issues right off the bat using it. It seems to leave an imprint of the distributor head every time I use it. I've seen high-end OCD DT work like magic but not this one. It's good for the price I guess. I'm giving it a 3 star because it has made my morning routine a bit easier by getting the grounds level for me to tamp more consistently. I hate using the level tool that Brevil give you with the machine so this one will have to do. check out my picture for more details of my issue.

This Leveler is just what you need and nothing else. it gets the job done for a very reasonable price. It was slightly lighter than other levelers I've used but works!

I have a Breville Barista Express machine with 54mm inserts. Fits perfectly and produces a perfectly flat surface to tamp afterwards. I use this everyday. It has solid weight to it as well. I can recommend this Distributor.I also purchased this along with a better tamper as well. The two tools combined make it easy to get the ideal flat surface and perfectly tamped espresso.

This is a great tool for distribution and leveling your espresso. Very solid and does not feel cheap. It works great with my Breville Barista Express’s 54mm portafilter. Has made a huge difference in regulating my extraction. I still use a tamper after, but have seen that some people just use a distributor alone. I plan on testing this method soon.
