This Kilponen battery iPhone case is probably one of the best investments I have made so far for my phone. I'm a heavy phone user because of my job, and I do not get past 2PM with more than 20% of battery left on the primary battery, so this is a great supplemental product. The functionality of the case is what convinced me to purchase it: for starters the installation is not that bad because the case is only 1 piece, not multiple like other cases. All you have to do is pull back and hold the top part of the case, slide your phone in until it connects to the lightning charger and unfold the top part again and its installed. Next, the volume buttons work like a charm and I've had no trouble with them, the silent/ring space can be easily accessed even if you have no fingernails. Power button is gucci. And finally the #1 reason why I bought it: it has a lightning end to it, so you don't have to swap in between micro-USB or lightning cables, you can still use the same cable as before.

For the price, this is not a bad battery case. It claims it has a 6,000 mAh battery capacity in the case itself. I found this a little but laughable, as the battery in my iPhone 7 is a little under 2,000 mAh, so in theory it should provide approximately three full charges to the phone, but after using it for day and initiating charging at 90% (three separate times throughout the day) on my iPhone, the battery indicator on the battery case dropped to 50% by the end of the day. So I think 6,000 mAh claim may be fairly inflated; however, I can't prove it, to do so I'd have to see the battery and destroy the case in the process - not worth it. Just know that it's probably not a 6,000 mAh battery in the case, in my opinion.*UPDATE 12/3/19*When parking at work this evening, I picked up my phone and it was almost too hot to touch and smelled like it was burning. I immediately disconnected the charge from the battery case and took the phone out of the car - these are lithium-ion batteries after all. I took my phone out of the case and let the charger sit on a concrete slab outside my car to cool down. When I looked at the case, it had melted on the bottom from the inside, and would no longer turn on. I'm sending it back, will be getting a better quality product next time, I don't need a fire in my car as I drive down the road.

Update 5/29/20 After several days of writing an email a day as well as submitting a question through Amazon’s contact seller form, I finally got a response and they said they will replace the two cases that went bad. I appreciate their standing behind their listed warranty. I am hopeful that these replacements won’t suddenly die! I will update in the future.5/27/20 I bought three of these at three different times between December 2019 and January 2020 to replace older battery cases from another company. The old ones had lost their charge after almost two years so I wanted to try out a different brand. These worked good until May of 2020. Two of them just died suddenly within a day of each other. They wouldn’t turn on and wouldn’t even charge themselves when I plugged them in anymore.They say they have a warranty for a little over a year so I wrote to them. They apologized and said they would send a replacement. I was confused though because I had sent them the three order numbers and said that two of them had stopped working and could we please then get two replacements? They never answered. I wrote again to ask them again. Still no reply. Now we are going on a week since their initial response and I have no idea if we are getting two replacements for the two that died or not. Plus I am worried that the third case may die at some point too and realize that I likely won’t get a response about that one either.They claim an 18 month warranty. I claim that they are not serious about it. If they respond or if they send out two replacements I will come back and update this review but at this point I am not feeling good about the money spent on this purchase.

I've an old iPhone 6. Pretty sure I'm on 3 years with it now. As such, I don't get the battery life I used to get. I've been using charging cases on this phone for years. Unfortunately, I've only averaged maybe 9 months with them because of the micro connector. I figured I'd get one this time with the iPhone connector, because all it really has to do is seat well, regardless of how it's plugged in. So far, this one is the best I've ever used. As of this moment, I've no problems recommending it, at all.*** UPDATE *** Well, I had hoped that this would FINALLY be the case. Unfortunately, no. I purchased it in November, and beginning in January, ran into the same issue as the cases I've tried with a micro connector. I have to have the cable (regardless of what cable I use) plugged in "just right" or it won't charge. VERY DISSAPOINTING!!!*** Update *** Absolutely not worth a dime. I got LESS than 4 months of life out of it.

Just got this case and it is even better than I expected!The fit and feel is great. The lightning socket is solid and accepts a plug nicely. The buttons are just a little stiff but not enough to be a bother. The phone jack is easily accessible.Haven’t had time to check out the performance of the battery but all looks good.

I just like to say I’m a prime member for over 10 years and I purchase EVERYTHING from Amazon! That said, I purchased this item on the 15th of January 2020....received it on the 17th & by the 21st of January I’m at Apple because my phone is not working/dead and will not take a charge. They tested my iPhone, I thought it might be the battery, it was not. It was the charging port that was broken by this charging unit that I just bought. I Communicated back and forth with AMAZON for over an hour. They said there was nothing they can do except refund and issue a return label for this money-pit of a charger. So this afternoon, I’m at Apple, not having a working iphone, buying a new iphone....the least expensive one they had was an iPhone 8🙄. Needless to say, I would not recommend this iPhone charger. Very disappointed that AMAZON would sell this faulty product.
