The Carnage Ending

again without ADD and mike in the band it just doesn't fell right. but still good death metal for those looking for something to listen to for fun!

Bought this CD for my son for his 44th birthday and he really liked it! Not exactly my taste in music but it made him really happy!

It's hard to believe it's been like 20 years since "Cross the Styx" first made our ears bleed, but here we are in 2012 and here's Sinister still ripping out brutal death metal. Aad may be the only original member, but he keeps it true to Sinister's formula of massive chords, tight drumming and killer production. Is this the best Sinister album ever? No, Cross the Styx will always be for me the ultimate Sinister album(and one of the best death metal albums of all time, I.M.O.) But this is a great album in it's own right, and few bands that have been around this long(death metal or otherwise) can come out with an album this good. Bottom line- if you like Sinister you'll love this, ditto if you're a fan of heavy music in general. FAST, HEAVY, WELL PRODUCED, GET IT!

I haven't listened to Sinister since I bought their Hate album when I was a freshman in college. Having lost touch with their output over the years, I heard a few samples from this new album and didn't hesitate to pick it up. It's crushing ! Borrowing heavily from Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, and Malevolent Creation, Sinister have created a well crafted, slamming death metal album . Is this better than Cross the Styx or Diabolical Summonings ? Nah ( the only original member is the singer who used to be the drummer ) Is this another punishing album to add to the list of great death metal releases this year ? You better believe it ! 20 years later...I don't see any signs of Sinister ending their carnage anytime soon. Excellent !

Brilliant album from Sinister. Top notch all the way thru, great guitar tones, killer drumming, brutal unrelenting death metal. Hope they come to Newcastle!

Wieder mal war die an Krisen gewöhnte Band kurz vor der Auflösung, aber Aad Kloosterwaard borgte sich Musiker von Absurd Universe für das 10.Studioalbum von Sinister, und was jetzt hier vorliegt, hört sich nicht wie ein Schnellschuß zwischendurch an. "The Carnage Ending" ist ein Old-School-Death-Metal-Werk, wie man es sich nicht anders wünscht - wo Sinister draufsteht, ist immer noch Sinister drin, daran ändern die zahllosen Personalwechsel erstaunlicherweise nicht das Geringste.Das Intro mag ich überhaupt nicht; klingt ziemlich dünn. Zum Glück folgen mit "Unheavenly Domain" und dem brutal groovenden "My Casual Enemy" zwei richtige Kracher wenig später. Die stärkste Passage des Albums ist für mich von Song 6 bis 8: der Titelsong "The Carnage Ending" endet in einem ungewohnt melodischen Part, "Oath of Rebirth" doomt danach fies und zäh aus den Boxen, ehe mit "Regarding the Imagery" ein rasend schnelles Stück dagegen gestellt wird. Textlich reicht das Spektrum von Gemetzel bis Massaker, Worte wie "skull" und "torture" kommen wohl in jedem Song vor, der gute Aad geht hier keine Experimente ein.Die Bonusdisc des Digipaks enthält 5 Coverversionen, wobei "Spit on Your Grave" (Whiplash) und "Succubus" (Massacre) absolute Rübenabschrauber sind - so muss das! "Face Fate" (Bloodfeast) ist zumindest eine interessante Wahl, denn an Bloodfeast erinnern sich nicht mehr so viele, denke ich, und die hatten im Original natürlich völlig anderen, höheren Gesang. "Swing of the Axe" (Possessed) ist heftig, aber vorhersehbarer. Bei "Dethroned Emperor" (Celtic Frost) fragte ich mich beim ersten Hören: passt das zu Sinister? Geschmacksfrage, aber es gefällt mir mit jedem Durchlauf besser. Insgesamt eine Bonusdisc, die sich lohnt. (Und falls die Band das zufällig liest: spielt das Whiplash-Cover nächstes Mal live, bittebittebitte!).

Los maestros del Death Metal holandeses han editado un gran album, lleno de buenos riff de guitarra, voces guturales y baterias a todo meter. Un gran album, para mi el tema "Transylvania" es brutal! Recomendado si buscas Death Metal bien tocado al estilo clásico, esto es para ti.

I bought this CD for my son and he loved it.I am not into this kind of music (though I have to listen to itwhen my son does) but I was rather surprised that I kind of liked itmyself. A bit strong, but well each to his own.

第10作目のフルアルバムにして5人編成になった。いままではベテランだがいまひとつ派手さがなく、堅実だがともすればその他大勢のデスメタルと十把一絡げにされてしまいそうだった。しかし、今作は違う。ギターが二人になったことを生かし、切り込むようなギターソロが入り、曲に彩りを添えている。だからと言って生ぬるいメロデスでは全くなく、スピーディーな楽曲がほとんどを占める。最近のわかりやすい例でいえば、ラルフ・サントーラが入った後のDEICIDEのようだが、そこまでメロディアスではない。もちろん演奏力、破壊力は申し分なく、安心して最後まで楽しめる。次作も期待できる、デスメタルの模範となる一作。
